I have a sandbox and my cat keeps using it as a litter box. I don't want to have to cover it everyday. Any suggestions?

For one, you could keep your cat indoors. But if you insist in letting it roam... Check out the dangers of zoonotic diseases to children who have been playing in sandboxes that outdoor cats use as litter boxes. That might prompt you to keep the sandbox covered when it is not in use... always!

Either you keep your cat in the house, or YES you will have to cover it every day.

Have any other cat's used the sandbox that you are aware of? Because that very often happens.

I take it you have small kids that play in the sandbox. It's either cover the sandbox, keep the cat in the house or if push comes to shove you'll have to get rid of the kids!

I know what you'd like to do, but you can't so put the cover on and be done with it.

There is no way! You should be happy that your cat is so well litter-trained! It is just natural that she uses it as a toilet.

Your kitty probably thinks that's what it is there for. If not your cat, it will be someone else's!
