Think about what you want to say before you are going to speak.
Than, speak a little more slowly than you would normally do, and put a little more stress on the important words, but do not overdo it.
Speak in short sentences, but not just three word sentences.
Use words you are familiar with, it is no use to use difficult words if you use them wrong, nor if your listener does not know the word, but if you need a difficult word, explain it in a natural way.
Like in one sentence you use the difficult word, and in the next you say nearly the same in normal words.
If you speak to a group or in a noisy place, speak a little louder but do not shout.
It is a trick you can learn but it is hard to explain.

I agree make, sure you are thinking about what you are going to say and speak clearly. You may also want to make sure you are using proper English when speaking. Using proper English lets the person know you are educated and therefore more credible.

Do your homework well.
Know what you are going to speak about, think of all the pros & cons of the topic you are going to speak, rehearse them well & always keep in mind that you know much more than your audience.
