U asked what causes obsession? well, ur friend just has a thing for this certain someone, for whatever reason ~~~ she is attractive too and can't get it out of her head.. people can be obsessive over anything.. food, people, sports whatever.. it is just something a person gets involved with, then, likes it and it gets out of control... hope this helps.
