You have no idea what you are talking about my friend. No where did Jesus say to stone children who disobey their parent.
And just off the top of my head right now I do not recall anywere in the Christian Old Testament that says women were to be stoned if they went out in public with out their heads being coverd.
After 30 years in the ministry my mind may not be as fast as it was on recalling (of the top of my head) LOL
In fact He told us in the New Testament that unless we become as Innocent as a little child we shall never enter into Heaven.
The Old Testament laws were fulfilled for us by Jesus, that Contract is now null and void.
Christians enter into a New Contract and the New Testament is that contract. And that contract says (IF) we "continue" to follow Jesus we will be saved from destruction.

What U have neglected to remember is that the Lord Jesus Christ took upon Himself the punishments for all sin, for all of mankind
The Bible is never wrong; we are the ones who are wrong.
The Old Testament laws were intended to show us that there is no possible way for us to be holy enough to be with our Creator. Jesus Christ's death on the cross at Calvary was the penalty for all sin for any who will believe and accept Him as Lord and Saviour
The dietary laws and laws dealing with "Jewish customs" were intended only for Israel and not for the Gentiles. Read Paul's epistles some time.(But anyone living such a life style would be very healthy.)
Only the governments now have the authority to take a human life for breaking God's laws.
Some commandments in the Old Testament still require the death of the offender today -as can easily be seen from a close and lengthy study of the entire Bible. The wages of sin is still death, yet the gift of God is still eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Just because U should pay for a crime with your life -according to God's Word; ie murder- does not mean that God would not have mercy on a truly repentant and believing murderer.

The ancient nation of Israel were under the Mosiac Law.They were in a special relationship with Jehovah God and as such were under a special covenant arrangement.
However,Christ did away with this Old Law and replaced it with the New Covenant at the Lord's Evening Meal.
(Col.2:14;Gal.3:19;Rom.10:4;)
Jesus summarized "Biblical law" in Mat.22:37 where he said "You must love,Jehovah your God........This is the greatest and first commandment .The second, like it,is this,'You must love your neighbour as yourself'.On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets."

I think someone else already mentioned it, but the Bible was written by people, not God, and people make assumptions that are incorrect.
Anyway, I believe the Bible is a group of books from which we can acquire knowledge that will help us live a better life. It is not to be taken literately. If we stoned all sinners to death, we'd be extinct by now.

You still dont know the basics of what Jesus has done. Briefly, let me explain it to you. Jesus died on the cross so that no one would have to die from their sins. He paid the death penalty for all men. Stoning is done away with. We now do not get any biblical death penalties because of the sin we have done. That is why He is called the Redeemer. I suggest you actually read some bible....instead of going by uneducated assumptions. God bless :)

Due to the fact that these
Christians use the Protestant Old Testament which is lacking 7 entire books 2 (Tobias, Judith, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus/Sirach, Baruch, I Maccabees, and II Maccabees), 3 chapters of Daniel and 6 chapters of Esther may be one of the reasons they ask catholics so many questions.
For the Sola Scriptura this is too bad .
In the 16th c., Luther removed those books from the canon that lent support to orthodox doctrine, relegating them to an appendix. Removed in this way were books that supported such things as:
prayers for the dead (Tobit 12:12; 2 Maccabees 12:39-45),
Purgatory (Wisdom 3:1-7),
intercession of dead saints (2 Maccabees 15:14),
and intercession of angels as intermediaries (Tobit 12:12-15).
The lesson, though, is this: relying on the "Bible alone" is a bad idea; we are not to rely solely on Sacred Scripture to understand Christ's message. While Scripture is "given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16-17), it is not sufficient for reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. It is the Church that is the "pillar and ground of Truth" (1 Timothy 3:15)!
Jesus did not come to write a book; He came to redeem us, and He founded a Sacramental Church through His apostles to show us the way. It is to them, to the Church Fathers, to the Sacred Deposit of Faith, to the living Church that is guided by the Holy Spirit, and to Scripture that we must prayerfully look.

The Bronze Age stories in The Goat Herders' Guide to the Galaxy were myths aurally passed down through the generations having originated with desert dwelling nomads who saw the invisible man in every mirage.
When you put it in perspective it's hardly a book relevant to 21st life.
MANY (try MOST) things have changed and it'd scare me if those people saying they took the GHGG literally really did take it literally - maybe they're just attached to reality enough to realise it all must be taken with a little salt.
We can but pray. LOL

The bible is in parables, the unbeliever can not understand it's teachings. No we are not to stone the sinner's. Jesus came and taught a new message. He said "Let him who has no sin cast the first stone". Please, if you can not read the Bible and understand it teachings do not make the rest of us seem so bad.

There is no such law requiring women to be stoned to death for venturing out in public with heads uncovered in the Bible. Jesus never said that children who disobey their parents should be stoned to death.
Nevertheless, I see your point. The 613 Mosaic laws were given to geo-political Israel. Geo-political Israel no longer exists. In fact, God's people know no national, ethnic, cultural, linguistic nor any other boundaries since Christ was bodily received into the sky. Christ is for all people. New geo-political nations do exist, with their own sets of laws and punishments. Whatever geo-political nation they live in, Christians do well to obey its laws in general.
Is the law given to ancient Israel useless, outdated, not up to date? Not at all. There are principles behind each of the 613 Mosaic laws designed to demarcate between those who follow God and those who do not. In other words, those who claim to follow God should demonstrate by their words and actions that they do indeed follow Him. Christians do well to learn those principles and live by them.

The bible is correct, We don't have to abide by all the Jewish laws because SOME of them were done away with, Jesus said "I have not come to do away witht the law but to fulfill it". What ever is in the new testament for the Gentiles, is what we follow, we aren't Jewish even though we must follow SOME of their deeds as stated in the NT by Jesus and his Apostles.
