I just purchased a 07 Maxima.......(Love it by the way)......I dealt with 3 car lots before buying. The trick is to tell them what you want to pay....if it is within reason, they will sell it to you. I knew what I wanted for my trade in and I wasn't about to budge! I looked on line to see what the MSRP was and started from there. They will come off of the MSRP, a couple of things you need to know: They have to make a profit.....I told the salesman, I know this is how you make your living and I am not trying to get the car for nothing, but.....I am not trying to send your kids to college either!......He just laughed and then shot me a straight price that was fair. The first 2 dealerships I went to inflated the MSRP to begin with.....then talked alot of fast talk.....but since I had done my research I knew they were taking me for a ride. The trick to buying a car is to educate yourself on the vehicle.....know the MSRP and don't back down from what you have decided....It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of getting a new car.....just remember...after a few months that new car feeling will be gone....and the payments will still be there. Good Luck!!!!!
