Where do you think the worst cops are in teh country.

I live in Prince George's County, Maryland and the county cops out here are horrible. They only pull traffic because they think that they can get more criminals that way but it hasn't been working. Crime is still up and they are only getting thier stats. 1 county cop, shot 2 delivery men and killed one of them, he is still working. Another off duty cop chased a motorcycle on I-95, when the county police rules are they are not supposed to chase motorcycles and the officer ended up getting in an accident and killing 3 people. And last but not least, County police get on teh scene of a accident with injuries and they call the victim racial slurs and they curse and pull thier weapons out on the male, not knowing that the male was recording everything on his cell phone. All these are true stories and have links to different websites to prove it. Let me know what you think.

I work for the Police department and I am not complaining, I sit and listen to the police all day long and out of the 25 traffic stops per officer they might get 1 person who has an open warrant, the rest of teh time they are harrassing people.

It happens all over. Location and pay seem to have a lot to do with it. Sheriff's Deputies are not generally paid their worth as is often true in cities. New Orleans is a classic case where the police are near the bottom of relative pay and their actions and inactions prove it. When I lived there, for instance, a STATE officer (Mississippi River Bridge Authority Police), was caught by a news team beating the crap out of somebody. When the newscaster and cameraman approached he attacked them. The woman reporter made it to the car and can be seen frantically locking the doors. The cameraman set the camera (still on) on the hood and had the crap beat out of him. When the officer was asked about it the next day, he said, "I didn't know the camera was on". Many officers (and usually the mayors too) were on the take. Spokane, WA is another place where police officers are poorly trained and out of control. I think it is mostly a matter of chance but that chance can be enhanced or decreased by policy.

I really want to live in my hometown, (Angola, Indiana), but because that town is near two state borders, we have three, (count em), three different police roaming the area: the local City Police, The Sheriff Department, and the Indiana State Police... Just Cops all over the place... And that increases the likelihood of being stopped by them... But, too, they never did me much harm.
The normal protocol is not to cringe if you see a cop, especially if you know you aren't doing anything wrong... Could be you are? Well then blame yourself for not changing the laws as you find them.... so far so good with the cops, but I prefer a town, or area, with as few as possible... Just more relaxing.

New York City cops put 50 bullets in a man celebrating his bachelor party.

PG County Cops haven't stooped to that low.

The pressures of Homeland Security is causing police to lash out on an unsuspecting public.

Crime is still on the rise because criminals keep committing crimes. Do you really think the police can stop crime? They are seriously outnumbered. Most crimes are investigated after they occur. It's extremely hard to prevent them.

As for harassing the motorists...let me guess, they committed some traffic violation, then are getting harassed. Go figure.

If you don't like cops move somewhere without um dude.

All agencies have bad stuff on their records. It's kind of hard to be perfect all the time.

And if you have the time, find some reports on how many speeders or other people have been arrested that would have hit someone another half mile down the highway if they hadn't been stopped. Or how many people have been picked up as sex offenders or for assault that would have acted again if they hadn't been stopped? After you get those come back and start complaining again.

well traffic stops are not quotas, there are many criminals that get caught before they engage in crime or after fleeing from the scene of a crime. you have given us about 1% of the facts in the cases you mentioned so how are we supposed to agree with your already altered mind.
