They may be registered with a department store, a travel agency, or a bank. This is becoming increasingly common so that friends and family contribute toward the honeymoon or toward a down payment on a house. If you don't like those options, you could give them books, music, art, tickets to a concert, play or sporting event, day spa services,

Store or restaurant Gift card or gift debit card. If they like Wal-Mart, that would be good if there is a Super Wal-Mart around since there is a lot to choose from.
If they like dining out, one like the Darden gift card where they can choose which of the chain's restaurants they want, like Red Lobster, Olive Garden or I think Bonefish Grille or Smokey Bones BBQ.
You could also think about something along the lines of http://www.GiftCertificates.com so they can choose what they want on the net. They can even choose their own store or restaurant gift card :)

My husband and I lived together for over a year before we got married. We were pleased to replace his ratty old bachelor era towels we had been using with new ones gifted upon us. you might want to find out if theres something they would like to replace like new cookware or something. Its great to stat off marriage with fresh new things in your home.
a gift of cash or maybe a nice picture frame would be a nice idea too.

OOO - good one.
Something like a piece of art, a gift card to a favorite store, something you know they have but is wearing out, donations to a greater pool to buy them a vacation, or simply cash or a check.

Picture frames make nice gifts. Mikasa has crystal ones, or every gift store has them as well. Everyone can use them, and you can give a frame as a gift without a picture (preferably without a picture) already in the frame.

If they have everything they need then upgrade on what they have. Elegant photo frames. In my opinion you can never have enough towels and sheets.
