The first three answers are correct. In fact you will see even in the bible where letters were written to "the saints in Corinth" etc. They were the followers of Jesus Christ in ancient times. There are Modern day or Latter-day Saints today and are gathered in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is of the same organization and under the same divine power as in ancient times.

When the apostles were killed the authority to act in the name of God was removed from the earth. It was restored again to a young boy by the name of Joseph Smith who, through trial of his own was looking for the one church that contained the fullness of the Gospel. There are 12 Apostles on the earth again and a Prophet. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.

In the true (not conventional) sense, a saint wouldn't care if he was considered a saint. A saint is someone who is on everyone's side, yet does not play the game of life.

everyone becomes a saint- that has accepted Christ as Savior. There is nothing we can do to be a saint-because apart from Christ we are nothing. When we come to know Jesus, we automatically become known as a Saint. However that does not mean we always act like one- we grow in our faith and our walk hopefully as we mature. But the day you accept Christ is the day you become a saint.

OK, here's an answer to your question and a message for all you ignorant people who love to point out how Catholics are inacurrate, corrupted, and wrong. At the Second Vatican Council, a document called Lumen Gentium was created. this document states that we are all called to be saints because of our faith. This call to sainthood is reflected throguh our worldy ministry, by being a light to the nations, which is what Lumen Gentium means in Latin. to become an officially beautificated saint one must: fully embrace Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior as well as professing his/her faith in the three aspects of the trinity (duh), live an exemplarary life by displaying Christ's example and defending the faith (by faith meaning Christianity, which includes all denominations). it also helps to have miracles attributed to encounters with that person. hope that helps.

Anyone whose sins have been forgiven by God through Jesus Christ is considered a saint in the eyes of God.

Catholicism has a different view, but it's an inaccurate one.

Biblically speaking, a saint is any believer in Jesus Christ. The Catholic church has made something else out of this word that was not intended in scripture.

You would have to perform at least 2 miracles. The Catholic Church decides what a miracle is.
