Isn't being stupid sometimes and making mistakes part of being a kid? Making mistakes, correcting oneself, trying again, searching, falling down, standing again, probing, pushing limits, questioning, trying to fit in are all necessary stepping stones on the road to adulthood? Why only condemnation for being exactly the way kids are supposed to be? Where is your compassion? Where is your support? Where is your guiding hand? Tell me you skipped this awkward part of your life and jumped from childhood to a graceful, self-assured adulthood in one perfect leap.

Steven? Aren't you being just a bit too judgemental about these "kids"? I'm 57 years old, grew up in the 60's and when I compare thses kids to MY generation I find that Today's kids, while a bit more lazy, are a LOT more enlightened about the world than MY generation was at their ages. Many of these kids are more knowledgeable about events in the world, have deeper insights into Environmental, religious, social, Political and economic events than MOST of the kids when I was their age. Is it perhaps that they're NOT as malleable as you had hoped they'd be? That they DO have the ability to think for themselves that has you feeling frustrated? I think that the fact that they WON'T take what people say at face value says a LOT for them and I'm PROUD to have been able to see how they think and answer some of their questions and help "guide" them to search and find their OWN solutions on their OWN. They have proven to ME that they DO have what it takes to plot the courses of their OWN lives. I see in them, the greatest HOPE for our world and think it's going to go places that have never been explored. Provided WE adults don't screw up the planet on them BEFORE they get the chance to take the reigns from us.
