Since Christianity is based on the one true infallible word of god how can there be so many different kinds?

Seems the truth would lead everyone to the same conclusions about everything. Rather there is division on even the simplest of points like does god command people not to kill or does he say not to murder? Kill seems straightforward enough and would unite everyone under a pacifist banner. But many like murder better stating its from the original language. How many other minor translational issues exist........................

There is only one kind of Christianity.

Kill is the word used by the 400 year old King James Version of the Bible. Since the English language has changed so much, the Bible has been translated again into the languate of the late 20th century and early 21st. Murder is the correct translation in modern day English.

Anyone who chooses to read a 400 year old translation is bound to be confused.

Sinful arrogant men is why there are so many denomintions.

Great question. It amazes me how many people will say the Bible is infallible, but obviously MEN are completely fallible. Even when it comes to the Word of God.

But hey, if they just say things that aren't true about other religions and then that'll make theirs correct. Another great tactic is to try to discredit a leader. Then it deflects the attention from them and "proves" the other guy wrong.

Then they don't have to worry about why what they believe is right. If everybody else is wrong then they must be right, right?

For 1,500 years after Christ there was no such thing as denominational religion. This is a recent tradition of men, unauthorized by God and contrary to His stated will, "that they all may be ONE". During this 1,500 year period, all Christians believed the same truth, celebrated the same worship, received the same sacraments, and were in fact one united Body of Christ. Only since the advent of denominationalism - otherwise knwn as Protestantism - has doctrinal chaos developed in Christianity. This is due primarily to the unbiblical, untenable manmade tradition of sola scriptura, which necessitates rejection of the God-given authority of the Church Christ founded, which in turn is the only means Christ has provided for knowing the truth. This is why the Word of God, the Holy Bible, tells us that the Church Christ founded is "the pillar and foundation of truth". This is a powerful analogy. We know what happens to a structure when you remove its pillars and foundation. It immediately starts to warp and weaken, and eventually collapses. This is precisely what has happened to truth within the Protestant tradition. Each denomination is convinced it knows the truth - which simply proves that none of them do, since they all conflict with one another, just as you said. However, the Church Christ personally founded, the Catholic Church, remains united in belief, united in teaching, united in worship and united in administration after 2,000 years, a record that is nothing less than a work of God among us, just as He promised.

Since Christianity is based on the word of man (it was men who wrote down what they think God might say, and it is humans who continue to interpret it), and since mankind works pretty much on the same principles, it only makes sense that there would be similarities and differences in all branches of Christianity.

If God is so powerful, why doesn't he or she write everything down and then e-mail it to us? Why does he or she leave the teachings open to interpretation?

Think about it. Lets say a person tells another person a story that is true. the person tells the other person to go tell everyone about it. with each person telling The same story, but with their little own snippets thrown in. That's why many religions have the SAME BASIC teaching.

Some of the christians (or so called) are not filled with the Holy Spirit, and it is He who teaches us all things, through revelations, visions and so on (with time). and also because it is very much interpreted by those unspirit filled people who are totally fallible. God meant 1 thing through all He wrote (the word of God) but most people try to apply it to their way of seeing things. That is why I personnaly put all the hard to understand things before God and believe it or not, He ALWAYS gives me HIS version of it, either through revelation, sometimes visions, but it is His way of seeing things that I believe, not man's many versions of God's Word.

But we have the mind of Christ.

His Word is Perfect and Infallible!
And not all who call themselves christians, many use the Bible for their own agenda.... But God knows them and they will be judged.

One major one that exists is in the interpretation of Divorce/Remarriage. The verse that is so often used for the foundation that if you divorce you are committing adultery there is a translational error that sheds an entirely differnt light on the verse. God is a divorcee(See Jeremiah3,8). He divorced Isreal even declareing I write you a decree of Divorce. In the Old testament Law, there were two ways to "seperate" from your wife. You could "put away" your wife in which case neither of you were allowed to remarry or you could "divorce" your wife in which case you were both allowed to remarry. Also the wife had the right to divorce the husband. There were two seperate words for this in the original greek. Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcemet: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. In the original greek text the second verse used the same word twice apoluo- to put away. The first verse used the word apostasion- to divorce. If you take in context that Jusus was saying to the scribes and phaisees Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come not to destroy but to fulfil. There another translational error occured the word fulfil is not what the original text said it said to make clear. Now keeping this in mind you take what he said to the pharisees: It is said(The Law Says) Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement. Plain and simple as the Law had always been. At the time of Jesus, the Law of the Land said you could either "put away" your wife which was simply the verbal command to essentially get out of my house or you could "divorce" her or him. The Pharisees had asked him for his opinion on divorce and he answered them. He said if you are going to put her away divorce her but as you are using the law now you are "verbally putting her away" without the writing of divorcement and by so doing you are forcing her into adultery and forcing any that marry her to committ adultery with her! He was making it clear to them that by Gods Law they were well aware that the "put away" was not acceptable. If you were to put away your wife you had to give her the writing of divorcement lest you be held responsible for her adultery and for the adultery of the man that married her after you "put her away". Two little words nearly spelled the same but not quite comepletely changed what Jesus was trying to tell them. Jesus was telling them you know full well what the Law says (See Deuteronomy 24, 1-4) if you "put away" your wife you cannot remarry nor can she. You have been using this verbal put away to your own devices so you can womanize and defile yourselves and I am telling you it better stop!! Divorce had never been a sin in the bible and it is not a sin today. We today here in the U.S. cannot divorce without having it in writing. However, to this very day in the middle East, you can still do either if you are of the Jewish Faith. So much misery has been caused by those two words being misinterpreted. I know of couples that have been forced to divorce in order to take part in meeting. So sad.

Yes. You are right that Christianity has many denominations but actually of one body and of the Unity of the faith. Likewise,
I am a Christian in the spirit and this is under the UNITY OF THE FAITH. Spiritually speaking, it is just right to be knowledgeable of other christian denominations as these christian churches are all parts of the Christian body or Christianity. Thus, on spiritual grounds, the Orthodox church, Mormon church, Protestant church and Catholic church are parts of the whole Christianity or the Christian body. Catholics like ecumenical churches and Eastern Orthodox Church are the majority parts of the Christian body as their members are the majority members of the Christian body. Of course, Catholicism and Orthodox are imperfect churches where THE LORD GOD comments that they are lukewarm as instead have themselves neither hot nor cold in the faith. They and their angel of Laodicia declare that the LORD GOD is the HOST OF THE LORD'S SUPPER which is the title of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. AS A CHRISTIAN IN THE SPIRIT I BELONG NOT TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH NOR THE BAPTIST NOR TO THE MORMON NOR TO THE PROTESTANT, ETC because I belong to all of them as I AM A CHRISTIAN IN THE SPIRIT where there is a unity of the faith with ONE GOD, ONE LORD, ONE BAPTISM, ONE SPIRIT, ONE BODY OF CHRISTIANITY. But these individual churches may act as administrative church for baptism, weddings, burial ceremonies, etc. Even so, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST said the time is now that you will worship GOD in the spirit and in truth. Why is it so? Thus, each religion/ churches claim that they are the true church. Thus, in embracing Chrisitanity, Satan;s stragegy is divide and conquer. Remember that Satan is the real ruler of this word and rules the world by deceptions. Evenso, the churches are deeply divided and each claim to be the true church against the others. But everyone of these churches are a part of the true church as all belong to the one body of Christianity or the Christian religion. In Rev 1:10 and Rev 1:20 THE LORD GOD is holding the seven churches.They were the seven churches in Asia MInor (now Turkey) put up by the apostles of the LORD JESUS CHRIST after 4BC that is after HE ascended to heaven. The seven churches being in the hand of GOD show that all these seven churches are united and are one in the hand of GOD. 1ST is the Ephesus Church, now the hebrew oriented churches under the laws, tithes, sabbaths, etc. These churches are the Jehovah witnesses, Sabbatistas, 7th day adventists and they worship GOD as FATHER- ABBA/ ALLAHA. This relationship is between the FATHER AND THE PRODIGAL CHILDREN as they put themselves under the law yet cannot follow the laws. They are the right hand and the legs of the christian body. They declare that GOD is the TREE OF LIFE which is a title of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. This churches are imperfect as they are loveless as their faith is based on laws and not in their hearts. The 2nd is the Smyrna church now the Mormons. They worship GOD as THE LAMB OF GOD. They are the life of the body. This relationship is between the MAN-GOD AND MEN to prove that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST was a historical man. GOD' S comment is that these churches are imperfect as they are backsliders as they say and they do not do. The 6th is the Philadelphia now the miracle workers-MIRACLE CRUSADERS. They are the heart of the body. All these seven churches are imperfect churches except the Philadelphia church made perfect by THE LOVE OF GOD. Today, they are divisive because of Satan's deception of divide and conquer. Physically today, they are the seven churches on Earth. In 4BC, they were the seven churches in Asia. But In the HAND OF GOD thus, being perfect, they are the seven churches in the spirit.
