Well, even though you said you don't like q-tips, it's really easy to clean it out by dipping the q-tip into some rubbing alcohol and swirling it around in there for a few seconds.
That's what I do. Sometimes i put a little some in it suring a shower and make sure I get it all out(when it's sort of squeaky and not so slippery from the soap anymore)

Q tip and peroxide works best actually, if you are scared of a qtip then try a wash cloth and your finger! If you don't want to do that, try a water jet in the shower!

Mild soap and water in the shower, and dry well afterwards.
If you have sore or open skin, peroxide is not the thing to use (studies show it actually kills tissue cells) and it isn't used for wounds or sores anymore.
A q-tip is fine to use as well!

Just wash it in the tub or shower with the corner of your wash cloth. If it has an odor you may have an infection and need to see a Dr.

even though it's scary to stick a q-tip in there that's probally how i'd keep it clean.

interesting question!! ;) after u take bath just wipe it off with a tissue..nothing special to use...just the old ones...
