Hi guys,

I just moved in to a house (will only be here a year) but my room is pretty small. Heck, perhaps I would consider it tiny.

It should be around 100 sq ft.

I have a Full Bed, and am planning to purchase a new desk.

Are there any ideas as to what I could do to make the room look a tad more spacious and at the same time a contemporary yet clean bedroom that will also serve as a study area.

I really enjoy black and white photography, but I don't know how frames on the wall will make my room look more spacious.

Well black and white photos always give a room a clean yet nice look. I would paint the walls a light color. Not too light, then it will make your space feel cold. I would reccomend staying away from blue colors. I would go with a light green. That will make the room look much bigger than it really is. But it wouldn't really complement your black and white photos. A color that would compliment them is a red. I wouldn't go too dark on the red, but dark enough to compliment the photo's. It will give the room a larger feel, not by much, but it will really make a difference. It will make it very modern. Also it will be a good warm feeling in the room while using the study area!

Hope this helps! ♥

If it possible, you might try angling the bed in the corner and placing a small table in the corner with a light and a place for your cell phone, some photos... or even a plant.

Place the desk near the window - the natural light will help and it gives you something to look at besides a blank wall!!

As for black and white photography - keep it in the same family - nature pictures, family pictures, or flowers, cars...whatever your preference... frame them in simple black frames (Ikea has a good deal on them) and them group them together on one wall.

Have fun with it!!!

1] pick one color, and perhaps one print, for the room. Say you get a geometric pattern of gray, white, and black for your bed.
2] paint walls white, or a light shade of the gray
3] match drapes to gray, white, or black in bedding
4] add extra pillows in black/white print
5] rug in white or gray [ to match walls ]
6] frame all photos in black or silver. Put them up in patterns - all family ones on one wall, friends on second wall, vacation stuff on third wall. Do four on a diamond pattern [ over bed? ], three in stairsteps [ over desk? ] , five in a row [ over dresser? ]. Practice layout on floor, and measure , before you start hanging
7] all desk accessories should be black or silver
8] all furniture should be of same wood ideally, or add desk in black/silveror white/silver
9] if you have them, old cameras would be great decorative items
9] desk chair in black or gray
10] add a potted green plant, even if it's fake

Paint a tree on the wall and hang some birdhouses on the limbs with cup hooks; It will look like the outside has been brought inside and therefore look bigger.
