I want some answers, hard core no bull and no kitty. I want the straight facts for answers, all military and everyone I want a open fisted answer. Thanks.

I grew up through a divorce and a bad time finding the truth and honestly I am sick of seeing our young men grow up and have no positive role model. I want to help to shape our generation into something to be proud of, make our children proud.

"I am out on a mission to stop the occult from taking over and on the way I don't mind stopping at mcdonalds for a mcflurry." -I was laughing so fcuking hard, I had to take a chill. Who's the "occult" seems like you're kind of looney, like you need answrs fast, I don't know what is up your as s,. There are 3 -thats right, 3 different ways to become an officer; go service academy (Annapolis-West Point-Air Force Academy; Coast Guard) ; ROTC, in whatever branch you want-talk to a recruiter to see if the college you're going to has it, or OTS-Officer Candidate School (for enlisted who have their bachelor's (because you need one to be an officer) or any one who meets the requirements and wants to try it! Good luck, and chill. As long as you're in the top 10 or 5 percent of your class everything will be dandy and just go from there contact your congressman etc.

Dude Relax. You are on speed or something tonight. You have posted like 12 questions and they are all over the planet. If you want this so bad, you can go talk to a Navy Recruiter and a Navy Officer Recruiter. Just because you are 16 does not mean you cannot talk to these people. They are there to help answer your questions and they will and more. They have videos you can watch in the office. They have written literature you can take home and they have lots of people who can answer your miliion questions. They aren't going to take you into the back room and beat you up or anything, go see them this week and get your questions answered. Look them up in the white pages telephone book under the blue government pages. There are recruiting stations everywhere in the country and if there isn't one close enough for you to get to on your own, call the office and they will come meet you at home or somewhere else if you don't want your parents crawling all over you. There is a ton of information you will need to know if you want to only be an officer. There are also tons of programs where you go in as an elisted Sailor and then are selected to go to college to become an officer, it is called the Seaman to Admiral Program. This choice you are trying to make for your life really is not as hard nor as stressful as you are making it out to be so just relax and go talk to someone that would love to help you out with your future. There is no forced obligation or anything either, until you turn 18 you can't sign up for anything unless your parents sign off too so don't worry that you are going to get tricked into something. The rumors about recruiters are all bogus and you just need to trust the people to do their jobs and their job is to help people like you find their path into the military. Good luck and you will be just fine.

I tested, with 2 others, for OCS in Basic. I was lazy and did not take math in High School. I became a SSG eventually.

You can become an officer thru OCS. I am sure there is info at each branches web site about the requirements, process etc.

USMA West Point, Annapolis, Colorado Springs are NOT the only way.

SSG US Army 73-82

You're not screwed. You may have a harder time trying to get into any of the academies, but all you have to do is go to a regular college, keep your grades up, possibly do the ROTC thing, or just apply once you have your Bachelor's degree. You'll have some real life experiences that academy graduates won't have. You will be in exactly the same position as one that graduates from the academy, once you graduate from college and Officer Training School.

OK, first your 16 and a little to angry. Second go to the Service Academy of your choices website and look at the admissions procedures, if you don't get into an academy you can still be an officer if you get a degree and come in off the street. Relax, have fun in school and things will work out.

Annapolis is hard to get into. Honestly, you're better off going to a civilian university, actually enjoying your college years and then going to OCS after you graduate. I did that. My best friend went to Annapolis and he was miserable. Why do that to yourself? You get the same commission, regardless.

But by all means, go speak with an officer recruiter and address these concerns. SPECIFICALLY and officer recruiter. The enlisted recruiters will just suck you in with lies.

well noone starts as an officer and you wont either your are gonna have to work your way up.. you need to join whatever branch of the military you desire. Get enrolled in college which will be paid for through the military. Your college credits and your experience in the military from the bottom up will get you where you want to be. Maybe you should try talking to a recruiter. dont give up your dream if you dont have anyone pushing you you will have to push yourself . its up to you how hard you push. You are young and full of life if you want to lead our youth , Lead by Example. good luck.

You still have possibilities. First, you have the college ROTC option. Next, you can join the military and then apply for entrance into one of the service academies (I had one of my soldiers do this in 1987 and she was accepted) with attendance into the prep course prior to entry. You can get your degree and try for OCS. Your only restriction is your preconceived notions, which are incorrect.

You need a letter from your Congressperson. If you can pull strings, then great. If not, then get a portfolio of all of your accomplishments together and send them to your Congresspeople (You should have THREE: Your House representative, and your two U.S. Senators) Keep up the campaign. All it takes it one!
