I have enjoyed my last 36 years as a Christian much more that I did my first 18 years as a sinner.

You are right on! A person will have a much better life by believing in God and following His instructions even if there were no God, than a person who does not believe there is a God and then finds too late that there is! God's rules for living are not to punish but to give us the best possible life we can have in this old world for us and our families. There are 'good' people who are atheists but I wonder how they would like living in a place where there were no Christians, no churches, and no Bible --from where many of the laws of the land come from. As bad as it is now with the majority of people believing, what would it be if there were none?

A person cannot believe what their mind will not accept as true. I could fake like I believe, but surely a god would know I was faking. Can you believe that I am typing this from inside of a live whale at the bottom of an ocean and the smurfs are down here with me? Well Christianity sounds even more ridiculous than that to me.
Also, you lose a whole lot by being involved in a cult. You lose your free mind and nothing is much more valuable than that.
Also, I am sure that Allah, Yahweh etc.. would have more mercy on me for not choosing any other god before him.
"Suppose we've chosen the wrong god. Every time we go to church we're just making him madder and madder." [Homer Simpson's version of Pascal's Wager, "The Simpsons"]
Also, is fear really a good reason to believe? Pascal's Wager is really just a "polite" way for Christian Terrorists to remind non-believers that their all-loving god can't wait to send us to hell.

Pascal's wager:
"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"
This is, of course, false.
Some of the problems with the argument:
* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)
* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell
* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else
* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.
* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (some people pray several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.
* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?
* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

You are correct with your statement, but if this is how you justify your faith then you are mistaken. I am not saying that you personally do this, but believeing in a deity and doing good just because you have nothing to lose and everything to gain is not the way to go about things. Anyone who does good has a chance at salvation, even if you don't believe in a god. So those atheists who follow a moral path are better off than someone who does it for after-death insurance.

I sort of agree, Atheists stand to lose alot more by being wrong if you believe that the only thing that is judged by god is whether we believe or not.
But because I know so many good people of so many different religions and some of no religion, I refuse to believe as many of my fellow christians do that they are going to "hell."
I believe as Jesus said that the word of God is written in the hearts of man. That being the case I believe if u live a good life, i.e. giving, caring, loving, and contributing, you will go to heaven no matter your beliefs. I believe God judges actions more than anything. We are supposed to model ourselves after christ.
I know many nonbelievers who live a more Christ-like existence than actual Christians. I don't believe believing will give u an automatic pass to heaven, and not believing will give u an automatic ticket to hell.
SO your right if you believe believing is the only requirement. But I don't believe that.

Am I to understand that you are asking if you are wrong to believe in the "LORD JESUS CHRIST", because if you are then go ahead and mention His name. Because your question isn't making much sense. What if christians are wrong? you say, about what you don't say. are you afraid of what someone would think if they knew that you believed in "GOD" oooohhhh, earth forbid I said God. You are so worried about what people would say and call you for your belief that you forget about you soul. Deside to follow Jesus and leave the athaists to the devise of God, wrong is wrong no matter who is doing it. pick up your Bible and start to reading, what is right and what is wrong will all be revealed to you in the word of God, pray and ask God to guide you in the right way and you won't have to worry about loosing, for I believe in God with all my heart, the atheists can believe what they want. in the end God will seperate the right from the wrong. I pray we all be ready.

Well if what I beleive is wrong then I won't go to the Summerlands I still would have had a good life and taught lessons that would shape me as a human being. So either way, Wicca be wrong, Wicca be right, I can't lose.
Blessed Be

Amen.
I agree. I know Christ now. I walk with Him and talk with Him every day and would not give that up for anything. It's not a religion, it's a relationship, and I enjoy it now. That in of itself is already better than anything else in the world. Heaven is just an added bonus.
Many blessings.

I agree with you... I'd rather take my chances trusting in God and believing that the Bible is right, than to dismiss it as foolishness.
If I'm wrong, I've lost nothing, but I've lived a good, meaningful life. And if I'm RIGHT... then I've gained an eternity in the presence of the Lord.
If the atheists and agnostics are wrong, then they will go to Hell. If they are RIGHT... they still gain nothing.
Good point!

if you are wrong...you might be reincarnated as a bug.
spirituality is what's important, not religion. Atheistism is not the anti-bible. And believing does not mean you are achieving. something like 80% of the world are christians. Yet, jails are getting full, bars sell out and alcohal and cigarettes are selling like hot cakes. Wouldn't Jesus have sympathy for the ones who spend their life at bars...as long as we don't kill?
