Yes. The easiest route is through college ROTC. I don't know about Navy, but thats where 70% of Army officers come from. 10% come through one of the academies, and 20% come through OCS (Officer's Candidate School). OCS is an option for former enlisted members who choose to go officer.

My personal advice is to go active enlisted first for 2 years. See how you like it, see what officers do firsthand, and then, if you think officer's the right course for you, THEN all of the doors open up. I know Army'll send you to West Point, or they'll give you a Green to Gold scholarship to go through ROTC, or if you choose to get your degree in the time you're active (like many, many soldiers do), then you can go through OCS.

To be an officer in the Navy or Marine you have to go to Annapolis. To be an Army Officer you need to go to West Point. To be an Air force Officer you need to go to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Sprigs, Colorado.

To attend any of this colleges you need to contact you local recruiter or officer recruiter or even you high school counselor.

You can also attend a college that has an ROTC program. Once you graduate you will attend a short officer academy and will become a commission officer.

another route is to enlist and apply for officer academy, you will become what is as "Mustang" an officer that was enlisted.

No problem, HOOYAH

You also have the option of getting your degree from just about any college, then applying for Officer Candidate School through an Officer recruiter. The various academies are very competitive and therefore difficult to get into. It would be helpful to also have a good idea what field you would like to be an officer in, again the recruiters can help with information on the various areas. Contact all the services to see which appeals to you the most.

To be a navy officer you dont have to go to the Naval Academy in Annapolis. You can go to any University(preferbly one that has Navy ROTC) . In the meantime talk to a recruiter and ask them how many credits you need to be an officer. Once you graduate you can come in the navy as officer and make more money than enlisted personell do.

Annapolis is only one option to become a naval officer. I went to UC San Diego and then to Navy OCS. My best friend went to Annapolis and was miserable for four years while I surfed and drank Coronas on the beach in PB.

Go talk with an officer recruiter. Ask about every officer program they have from the Academy to OCS and NROTC. It's the same commission however you do it. Might as well enjoy yourself.
