you could try and shop around but your issue is your age and you wont get it lowered until you are atleast 25, it;s just the way it is. Even if your parents register the car and insure it, the insurance company will want ever license number for drivers in the house. and they will raise your parents rate. 1600 a year sounds reasonable. I have had friends that went up to 2400$ because they didn't do drivers ed. Think about it. Check other companies but it's the price you pay to drive.

something with four doors helps and not red.
really old vehicles dont qualify for some discounts and newer ones make insurance higher because they are new.
stick with something that has airbags, abs but not as new. like maybe a 2000-2001
yea, civics are really good. my first car actually. safe, very reliable.

get a sedan. something like a honda civic. prob in da 2000-2002 range. rember 4 DOORS! i jus got a 1997 chevy cavalier (its a coupe.... and red! not a good example!) but my car dealer told us to have the car put under my parents name and everything... and me as a part time driver... that could help you out a ton on insurance!! good luck with finding it! i jus got my car! im soo happy! :)

Chevy cavalier would make a good car.Lots of them out there.2 or 4 doors and eazy to fix.Best of luck with your first car.

4 door car will always lower your rate. a saturn or cavalier is food door but still small.

find a car that is older and not a foregin car. also the color dosen't matter that is a myth... good luck!
