i drew a tattoo design like six or so months ago. it was perfect. but just to be sure, i keep it posted in my room and use it as the wall paper on my phone, to make sure i still like it. i added something around it, but it didn't change the design and now i like it even more. Does it sound like i'm on the right track to getting one i really love?

That's a smart thing to do.
But getting a tattoo is kind'a
like falling in love..You just
know when you know.

A reasonable amount of time to wait is just as long as it takes for you to accept the commitment. You need to realize there will be pain involved in getting it done, and even more pain if you decide to get rid of it. If you've gotten tatoos done in the past, then you already know. Just think of where you want to get it done and whether or not that will work for your lifestyle and career. Otherwise, if you really like it and decide you want it, go for it and good luck!

If it doesn't work out, you could always use it for something else, like a cool design for the paint on your car.

Either way, good luck!

As long as your old enough then do it. But remember placing, if you are a young girl and plan on having children stay away from the lower stomach and hip area, you will stretch and possibly ruin your tat from being pregnant. 6 months is plenty low enough to decide on what you want, as long as your mature enough to make that decision. I think 20 is a good age to start seriously thinking about it. Some people dont decide what they want till they get there!

Yep, sounds like you're on the right track. You could wait longer, but you don't really need to. You waited, you still like it, you've kept it around, you still like it. I say go for it. Make sure you go to a quality artist that will make your tattoo perfect.

yes, it sounds like you're on the right track. wait another 6 months because you might end up finding something else or find out you want to take something out of your original design.

I thought I wanted mine too -- But now I feel like a white trash HO!! I hate it - and I'm 30 --- wait until your 40 - you will feel like a total reject for getting it --
keep your body beautiful the way it is minus the tatoo
You will thank yourself later --
I would wait like 5 years and see if you still think it is so cool

yes it really does. I'd say if you want it now you're ready. If you want to make sure, give it another 6 mos, or set a date for it like your birthday or an anniversary or graduation gift or if you're trying to loose weight it could be your reward for reaching your goal......just ideas. I'm waiting till my birthday to get another one so that it feels special and i'm really excited. that's in about 4 mos!

it sounds like you're ready for it!
it took me 6 months to decide on my first one (and i didn't have the design with me), and about 3 for the second one.
if you like it more and more each day, it's a sure sign you won't regret it :)

only you will know that. I have two and I drew both of them and knew pretty much right after I got done drawing them that they were what I wanted. For me it was right away, but if you have any doubts, wait.
