Sometimes just listening is the best thing to do. At times like this people need to talk to express their feelings. He needs to talk to someone about his fears and his feelings. If he doesn't want to burden his Mom with this, at least he can express what he's feeling to you. Don't worry about what advice to give him. Just be there for him and let him take the lead.

It may not be a bad idea for him to talk to his Mom. She may have information that could help him feel better or give him hope. If his father does die, he and his Mom have shared memories they can talk about. Talking about his Dad would help with the healing process.

Also your bf should not give up hope just yet. Just because his Dad had a heart attack doesn't mean he's going to die. Many people recover from a heart attack. Often times when someone is sick and people pray for that person, the person gets better. By sending positive energy to the person who is ill it helps him to heal. I'll pray for your bf, his Dad and family.

Just be there for him. Let him cry if he is sad or scared, let him vent if he is angry, try to go for a walk or bike ride so he can expend some of the worry and tension.
And he really needs to tell his mom how he is feeling. She will know the medical facts about his dad's condition and may be able to reassure him that he can be treated and recover. A heart attack does not mean you are dieing- it can be treated in most cases, but I don't know the surrounding medical history. He really needs to ask his mom.

Hugs to you both!
