Our daughter had a destination wedding with a reception for about 100 people two weeks afterward. It was wonderful, by the way, a low stress way to get married.
She did not register for wedding gifts, and she told us to tell anyone who asked that they did not want wedding gifts.
She received wedding gifts from most of the people anyway. They received a lot of Target gift cards, which they loved. But they also received things which were not exactly to their taste. (They regifted these things quite successfully.)
They thought that if they had to do it over, they would give people some guidance, like having relatives tell people that they did not want gifts, but if someone really wanted to do something for them, they really weren't interested in crystal, and maybe something they could use for camping would be nice.

I think you'll still receive plenty of gifts from people at the reception. I have a number of friends who went the destination weddingroute & had parties when they came home. They had nice turn outs, but I would say not to have a party if all you are worried about it getting gifts.

You will most likely get gifts from about 2/3 of the people who come to the reception, I'd guess.

gosh, people can be so negative. i am sure when they have birthday parties they want presents so what is the deal?!

anyway, yes, you should get presents. you are not expecting people to spend money on expensive plane tickets and see the actual wedding so you should get presents at the reception. however, some people will be RUDE and not get you anything. and some people will send you a card with some money in it before the wedding. GOOD LUCK WITH ALL!

just make sure you register :)

If you're having a reception people will bring you gifts.

Is that the reason your getting married?
You'll get gifts from anyone who attends the wedding, and anyone who attends the reception.
You will probably get more money and gift cards than physical gifts, ya know.

Well, usually the people you invite to the reception are there to celebrate the vows they saw you take at the ceremony - so your situation is odd...
Gifts should be the last thing on your mind - as with any bride! You are making your choice as to the style of wedding, so have to bear any consequences, too....

You likely will as people like to give gifts but you're right to not ask for them.

you should, you could also have a bridal shower before you guys get married, then people can give you gifts you have registered for.

yes you will although you should not make them feel obligated since they could not make it to the wedding.
