evolution is simply the truth, how can you put a value on the truth.

up until recently, yes. The purpose of evolution is to multiply and become perfect for living in your own environment. The crocodile has this down to a tee and this is why it has survived since the dinosaur age.
Take a human being to a place where it cannot shelter, has no clothes and does not know what foods are available and it will soon die but the human brain has evolved to overcome these obstacles by creating shelter, clothes heating and many other commodities we now take for granted.
Unfortunately, the human being has now become so advanced, it is starting to destroy the world it lives in.
If we and other animals can evolve to overcome this then yes,its worth it but I have the feeling that we are going to end up destroying life as we know it.

It's worth it in the same way as "water is made of Hydrogen and oxygen" - it isn't the most scintillating bit of knowledge - but it remains true nonethless.
I am saddened that some religions still reckon that all the skeletal remains dating back to before 2000 odd ytears ago are assumed to be fake or "the dating was wrong".
Hmmmmm.
That naughty carbon 14 dating atom has been playing tricks again.
It is worrying that the "creation" idea is now being taught - WHY do we let people teach our children scientifically provable falsehoods?
Frightning stuff. We'll be burning books again soon.

In that it produced me and my family, yes. In the case of some other people....

If evolution was going to take us beyond all diseases, why hasn't it done that already? New diseases come along all the time and in the case of microbes, the harder the science that you think keeps people alive and so allows them to pass on their hereditary weaknesses works, then the faster those microbes will evolve to keep up with us. Evidence MRSA.
Evolution goes on whatever we do. The direction may change, but natural selection carries on selecting for survival and reproduction.

Depending of course on your school of thought as to whether or not you believe it really exists of course...
It's my belief that evolution is no longer as big of a factor as it used to be. If evolution were to continue it's course you would find that most of the terminal diseases or anything that could potentially cause death would be eliminated. However, with modern science and technology you find that people with things like heart disease can be allowed to live longer and possibly reproduce and pass the traits on their offspring. Of course the people who can not afford such care would probably still die but for the greater share of non-3rd world countries people would receive the adequate care. So, as to is the theory of evolution worth it I would say absolutely, but it just isn't that big of a factor anymore.

Cannot be stopped!
All things evolve because the universe is dynamic. Right from the simple biological forms now as super bugs, to mammels right up to our own Sun changing into a Red Giant. Cant be stopped. This is a base nature of all things

well... it´s something fashionable to talk about rather than tackle the issue of muslims trying to kill us in the UK.
it´s sells papers so is probably worth for the media.
Print a story about evolution v creationism and you can sell millions, print a story about islamic terrorism and it´s boring now we are so used to it.

Up until 2,000 years ago, or so. ... Everything was going along pretty well for the first ~3,974,624,916 years.
Unless you mean the *Theory of Evolution*... worth every penny and every word since at least the 1850s.

Of course. Do you know how bacteria become resistant to antibiotics? They evolve. The only thing that religion can do in defense is have the Pope say, "Avoid science". Religion can blind some people to what is in front of them.
