Can you cook & eat snails from a lake?

If you are sure the water is clean yes. But do not expect escargot. That is common garden snails. I have heard of people eating them and have had fresh water clams myself.

I am no expert, but common sense says, please don't eat anything (snails, mushrooms, truffles,etc.) unless you are an expert.
