An excellent question.
Either they can say God is deliberately putting a soul into an embryo He knows in advance will be aborted (which would make God sound quite cruel)
... or ...
They can argue that the embryo has no soul till birth, in which case they leave themselves wide open to the argument that an abortion is nothing more than the removal of a soul-less thing.
I have great respect for questions which are both insightful and pointed.
Well done.

The same reason he gives a Newborn that dies in a few minuets after being born. We all have souls The Embryo would be in heaven.

Maybe it doesn't have a soul? But is just a symbol to make a difference to whoever is involved with that baby...
who knows? a doctor operating... a person walking by in the hospital and somehow hearing about it... a neighbor hearing the story... it may somehow effect someone's life and change things.

Babies are not given a soul--they are souls.
The soul is not immortal. The bible never describes the soul as immortal. That is a false doctrine taught by the majority of "Christian" churches as well as all of the pagan religions. Ecc 9:5, 6, 10,11 says that when you die you know nothing, can do nothing and have no memory. Nothing is mentioned about the soul being immortal. God did not tell Adam and Eve that their soul was immortal or that they would not die. Satan is the one that said that they would not die. So, the concept of living after you die is from Satan and not from God.
Satan has done an amazing job of convincing humans that they will not really die.
It would also make Jesus' ransom sacrifice worthless.

Because that soul needed that experience for it's spiritual evolution. Perhaps in another life that soul had experienced being a parent of an infant who died or who was aborted...

We have souls from the moment of conception because God is love and all-knowing.

I can't see God creating soulless human beings, no matter how short their lifespans. With an innocent soul, they will be afforded an afterlife. Without that soul, they would be doomed to the sort of death that the atheist envisions. How very tragic.

THE LORD GOD-THE LORD JESUS CHRIST in human image is the AUTHOR OF THE BOOK OF LIFE. Thus, no one is born on earth unless his/ her name has been written in celestial heaven. This applies to everyone either legitimate or illegitimate ones. It is because, we are all bounded by the WILL OF GOD as everything is written in the BOOK OF THE ALFA AND THE OMEGA. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. Pls visit my website-THEGOODNEWSOFTHEKINGDOM@yahoogroups.com

Because He values that life, even if you don't. And if that baby is aborted, its soul goes to live with God for eternity in Heaven.

Adam was just clay until God breathed the breath of life into him, according to Genesis, Holy Bible. I think that people are the same today, that we have no soul until God or each of our Guardian Angels breathes the breath of life into us.
