Actually, he DOES NOT live today - or at least the human you are apparently referring to in your question.
But, to answer your question, the greatest MAN was Adam...the first of our men from creation, the father of all of us. HaShem is G-d, so he wouldn't be considered man, but HE IS THE GREATEST OF ALL CREATION.
