I don't think we're allowed to have pets in my apartment complex, but this cat needs a home, & I feel bad for it. & it's obviously been abused by other cats because part of the tail is bitten off. She looks like she's fully grown. Should I feed her? If so, what? I don't have any cat food.

I DESPERATELY want a kitty b/c I lost the one I had during Hurricane Katrina. I know I shouldn't take stray cats into my ownership, since I don't know its history.

What should I do about this kitty? Report it to the animal shelter?

If you want to keep her you should ask your apartment owner if you can keep her, even if you have to keep her outside, you should ask. You can feed them egg, and meat. Or go to the store and buy food. If your owner says no, then you should take him to a shelter, so he can find a home.

How about the Humane Society? Where I live, they take in stray cats and try to find homes for them. They even have foster homes.

As far as adopting it yourself. I know that can be fairly expensive. Vet bills, shots, maybe even a license depending upon the laws in your area. If you feel you can afford the vet care, etc. talk to your landlord and find out about having a house cat.

I know if you feed them they never go away but we can't let the poor thing starve. I think you could feed it and then decide whether to take it to animal control, Humane Shelter, keep it, etc.

I am sorry I don't know what the heck to feed cats. I have never had one. Do they drink milk? And how about tuna or something like that?

Bless you for being so kind to animals.

Mine's been with me now for 7 years. responded prayer cat. path this became in accordance with a prayer after the ninety 5 lb dogs died and a super huge gaping hollow became in our family individuals as a consequence. And no person had to flow 'dogs procuring'. So I stated to God at some point, 'God', says I 'in case you like me to have yet another puppy, You greater advantageous stroll it proper up the driveway, it greater advantageous be neutered, non-laying off, healthful, friendly, and understand my speech, and be a nicely-mannered indoor animal.' And interior of a brief time, confident adequate, up walked a kitty cat at some point, friendly, neutered, and so forth. did not prefer nutrition, only petting and interplay (strangest factor i might seen in all my existence). Took over 3 months beforehand we integrated the cat into our family individuals. (and a 'present' of a lifeless fowl to spur my better half into action) And right here the cat is, staggering, friendly fellow, who behaves completely and has gained all hearts. i don't understand what all of us else does, yet this is our tale and we are sticking to it. thank you for the Q :) And, it does not even meow like a 'appropriate kitty' it feels like a go between a bleating sheep and a newborn in belly misery (there is a few Siamese in there).

I would certainly feed the cat and bring her in with you for the night at least. She obviously needs vet attention for the tail, probably needs to be spayed (she may be pregnant).

So if you can't afford to help her with medical treatment and know you can't give her a home it is best for her to go to a shelter where she can be treated and possibly find a safe home. You will have to take her to the shelter so I hope you can locate a carrier to take her in. You might need to go first and purchase a $10 cardboard carrier to put her in.

call animal shelter and tell them so they can put a humane trap and get her a home or a doctor or what she needs, the cat is probably hungry that's why she;s meowing at the door, If your not to have cats then don;t get kicked out as if you feed kitty ; he will go no more.I feed 3 feral cats as the owner was a drunk and moved and left them to take care of their selves,,People kick them trow rocks at them and there only crime is they had a idiot that ditched them on my street.I got them neutered and spayed with their ear cut so they know there fixed,They now live in my garage and yes i feed them daily as 2 are blind from cats diseases and 1 that is half lame..that is what you call trap and release.to there place where they were raised,,,,good luck ..... probably not a stary, it knows what a door is, and by meowing, it has probobly got attention that way before, like his owners house. Feed him any cat food, even the worst is probobly better then whats he been getting! At least give it a full stomach before calling the animal control. Bless ya for caring, I have a heart for strays also. But I realize you cant keep them all! Take care!

There is nothing wrong with taking in a stray cat. Some of the best cats I have had were strays. If you take it in, you just take it to the vet and get it checked out. But, if you can't have pets in your building, you could get into some real trouble by taking the cat in, maybe even eviction. Trust me, I know, my husband and I got a kitten and kept it hidden in our apartment for about 5 months, until he started getting into the windows and waving at the apartment manager across the street! We got evicted!

I think you should take him in, but make sure to give him lots of love and attention. You could feed it tuna, chicken or some other form of meat. They drink milk and water as well. Don't give him to a shelter. If they don't find a home for it, they'd kill him.

If you're not sure if you're allowed to have pets in your apartment or not then ask at the front desk. You may have to pay a special fee for having pets but at least take the poor kitty to the vet and have it checked out. ( good food for it is iams... again ask veterinarian for questions. )

Help her - if you can't take her in, then take her to the local animal shelter. You can feed her tuna fish and/or a bit of milk/water if she's hungry.
