Once one person decides, to say something happened, then it is not a streach for other people to witness the same thing,
Picture for example the history behind the War of the Worlds radio show. And what happened when ignorant people were told something that was untrue.
Christians, have a serious problem where all of their so called proofs, are only seen by other Christians, or those who become Christians shortly thereafter.
If these things are thought out, perhaps these Marian Apparitions, could truly have been thought out, and dismissed as halucinations, as there is never any proof besides that of the witness. Show me some proof that these aren't hoaxes/make believe stories.
Then I will consider awsering your question in full.

I do not doubt that people believe they saw something or had some type of religious experience that possibly changed their life or the way they feel about things. However, I think we are, as Christians, to put faith in the things that we CANNOT see. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says that we walk by faith not by sight. I do not take what I can see at a higher value than what I know to be true but cannot see -- God.

"Egypt was and still is a third world country with limited hi-tech capabilities."
... and of course, no one from NYC or Las Vegas could ever manage to travel to Egypt with their road show and high-tech equipment. Could they?

I wish all believers would quit trying to one up Jesus!
Didn't Jesus say 'An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, yet no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah...'
If Jesus declared no sign would be given to this generation, then why do christians keep looking for one to convince the unbeliever? All this will do for them is re-inforce your own self dilusional state. You can't one up Jesus! Stop trying. He is the sign! If they do not believe in Him, they will not believe even if their own mother came up from the dead and told them their was a hell... There is no way to make one believe, tell them the truth, if they accept praise God, if they reject, you have done your job... How would you like it if you hated pea's and everytime you mother came around she tied you up and forced them down your throat? They are good for you, but no matter how many times she forced you to eat them you will not eat them later. You cannot aquire a taste for them if you don't like them because they have no taste. Its' a mental block. It's the same with Jesus.. Share Him, don't tie Him to a spoon and shove Him down the throats of unbelievers. Please!

Easy. They are delusional or it's a trick. Anyone can do the kind of tricks you see in Vegas - it doesn't take Vegas to do it. There will always be liars and gullible people. Of course we can say it was a stunt until proved otherwise. And no one has done that.

Oh, boy: a mass Rorschach Test. Amazing how almost any lumpy splodge turns out to be the Virgin Mary. Why are these deities such lousy portrait artists?

I wonder if the Christians will be lonely in the invisible heaven. Is that the reason they try so desperately to convert the rest of us?

geez...even in the reference you posted...it said:
A Marian apparition is an event in which the Virgin Mary is SUPPOSED TO have supernaturally appeared to one or more persons,
how is that supposed to convince people who arent so sappy that they want to believe all the religious stuff they read??!!?!

The poor Mexicans don't have advanced technology capabilities, and yet they manage to see the virgin Mary everywhere. Oh, and lets quote WIKIPEDIA(a place where I can edit and write w/e I want,) and lets hope that their facts are actual facts..
