What about ghosts or psychic abilities? What about UFO's? The Lochness monster... garden gnomes...santa clause?

No insult intended, just wondering if you could be an atheist and still believe in things that aren't God. Cheers, thanks alot.

I actually asked the same question a few weeks ago.
The responses were pretty much as expected.

As an atheist, I have no belief in any supreme being(s),
nor a belief in anything paranormal.
Don't believe in aliens visiting earth, Loch Ness Monster, Santa Claus, Bigfoot, or garden gnomes.

No insult taken. :)

I believe in the laws of science and physics. I believe in rational thought and common sense. There are no gods, ghosts, psychics, UFOs, garden gnomes, Santa Claus, Easter bunny, Loch Ness Monster, etc., etc. I do find it very entertaining to read about them. It's fun.

I don't believe in god, psychic abilities, ghosts, mythical creatures, angels, etc. UFO's are entirely plausible because there could be life on other planets. The lochness monster is probably not real. Santa Claus was a real person at one time.

Just as belief in A does not necessarily imply belief in B,
disbelief in A does not necessarily imply disbelief in B.
There does, however, appear to be a difference between
an open mind and a closed mind, one which is less likely
to admit or analyze evidence, let alone experiment or hypothesize.
Should one then admit to the possibility of something until disproved,
or reject the possibility entirely until proven?
Better yet, is it possible to somehow approach
an uncertainty from both positions at once?
There ought to be a multitude of questions before the ultimate question,
the first ones perhaps being :
What do you believe in? Why do you believe what you believe?
And what difference does it make in your life?
Then we can discuss why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings.
If everyone is entitled to their own delusions, it doesn't mean very much
to profess a disbelief in things just for a feeling of incipient superiority.

I have some belief in psychic abilities. I believe that UFOs are a possibility; it's a mighty big universe. Nessie? Nope. Garden gnomes? They sneak into my yard at night and prune my roses. Santa Claus? Sinter Klaus was a real person.

Everybody has his own mind. Not all Atheists think the same. All Christians do not think the same.
This non-believer does not believe in any supernaturals, spooks, zombies, gods, angels, evil eye, spells, magic, zodiac, psychics, ghosts, spirits, etc.
If it is not of the natural world, it's just superstition to me.
Don't go out in the dark. The boogie man might get you.

It all varies from atheist to atheist. The word just means no belief in a god / no religion. I've met some atheists who believed in all kinds of crap.

Athesism isn't like organized religion. The term simply means that a person doesn't believe in God. After that they can believe in whatever they want
