i really want a hip tattoo, probably a scorpion because i'm a scorpio and i believe in the zodiac. but i just wanted to know how bad it will hurt, i'm quite young so i think you get it. i've never had one before also.

also, i know it's quite bad doing drugs n all, but since cocaine makes you go numb, would that help ease the pain?

to me, it feels like a needle being dragged across a sunburn. It's painful, but no where near unbearable.

Unless you can act COMPLETELY normal while on cocaine, a tattoo artist won't touch you. You have to fill out a release form (by the way, you have to be 18 without parental consent) that asks if you're under the influence of anything and a lot of other questions.

Like i said, the pain is no where near unbearable. Just suck it up.

I have I think six tattoos, my tongue and bellly button pierced. The amount of pain you will have totally depends on your tolerance for pain. Have you ever hurt yourself really, really bad. Well it's not going to hurt that much. Then again it depends where they put it. And about the cocaine, don't do it, they are not supposed to tattoo anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol, it makes you bleed more, making it harder to work on you.

Now I have a rose on my right thigh-didn't hurt to bad. Another on my shin about four inches from my ankle-that one hurt kind of bad.the black panther I put on my chest-that one didn't hurt at all. The one on the back of my left shoulder that one hurt a little bit and the one on my lower back I had to do that one in two sessions, because I thought it hurt, but when I was leaving, getting in my car, I thought, that wasn't as bad as you thought, go back in and let him finish but I didn't. So that one hurt somewhat, but after a while you are numb from the needle so you might not feel it too much anyway.
Just make sure you really want a tattoo. Don't just do it cause your friends have them or to try to impress someone. And make sure your tattoo is not going to be offensive or noticeable in the work place. Alot of professionals will not hire a person with tattoos. Just a few things to think about before you make your decision. Hope my answer helps. Plus it will take a couple of weeks to heal, and if it doesn't heal properly it could become infected. And with that MRSA staph infection that is going around I wouldn't do it. But it's totally up to you.

In most states it is illegal for them to give a tattoo if you are under the influence of anything.
And if tattoos hurt THAT bad then why would millions of people have them all around the world?
I have a tattoo on each of my hips and it wasn't unbearable.
The first 5 or 10 minuets rather hurt but after that I got used to it and was more uncomfortable than anything.
Plus, if you really want the tattoo it will be worth the pain.

Coke WILL NOT make you go numb. First off, they won't do your tat if they even THINK you might be under the influence. (And all the GOOD tat artist know) Second, the initial high you get will only last about 10 minutes, then you will want more, but you will never get it again unless you do mega doses. As far as the tat hurting, I got one on my abdomen and it hurt. And this is coming from a woman who has 3 children, all of which were born with no meds. It's not as bad as child-birth, but just imagine being given a shot millions of times a minute.

You need to think long and hard before getting a tattoo. If you decide to go through with it the pain isn't as bad as some make you to believe. However, unless you want to get a tattoo and become a drug addict all in the same night for a stupid reason then coke isn't the way to go. Just tell your friend what you want to get and where then go get stupid drunk and do it.

they wont tattoo you if yo have taken drugs ..... believe me they know.... when my wife and i got our second last week... I was waiting in the waiting room and a guy came in.... yep he didnt look high to me but they wouldnt touch him.... One of the guys there said yep. drugged..... I said how do you know...... He said... we know... we see so many....
As for pain... All tattoos hurt somewhat.... My fist on my left arm upper arm didnt hurt anywhere near the one i had done last week on my right upper arm..
Not stopping me wanting more though LOL.
The artist whotattooed my wife and myself said the pain depends on location.. and also detail..... the one on the right arm has more detail....
But all in all.... Both my wife and i love them... but then again we are 42 and 43 and beyond the point of taking notice of what other people think....
Funny that most people think they are cool... I have been Tutted at by a woman about my age.... my wife has had double take from a couple our age, we were in a Pizza hut, and also two elderly ladies were talking about my wife and trying to get a better look .. i heared them say wow look at her arms they are beautiful.
My only advice is make sure the tattoo you get is what you want.... make sure the studio is clean.....
One passing thought...... How many scorpios have scorpians...tattooed... ask the artist to make it look different to the rest.... also .. watch the colors.... ours are very bright and colorful... ( what we wanted) so chose carefully .. black isnt always best ;o)

Well the pain won't be that bad, if you can take a tolerable amount of pain you'll be fine. If you scream when you get pinched, it may not be for you. A big recommendation would be to not use drugs before you go because they won't tattoo you under the influence of drugs, and something may happen to you that you don't want to.

REMEMBER HIPS ARE VERY PRONE TO STRETCH MARKS, even in skinny people. OMG you must be crazy to want to do coke before a tattoo. You aren't even supposed to take aspirin before you get a tattoo. If you're that much of a puss about pain, you don't need to be getting tattoos - you should stick to press on tats. lol

first of all if they think you are on any drugs they will not do the tattoo, second, if you get a tattoo on your lower back you cannot get an epidural when you are pregnant, so i would definatly re consider that, tattoos on your hip hurt, it is really intense pain, i got mine yesterday and it hurt like hell, i would advise more on the stomach than hip, they hurt on bones really badly

pain-its part of the process much like getting pierced, and depends on how big your tattoo is. either way, you will get over it. but it wont tickle.
drugs or alcohol wont help kill the pain, and as others have stated, they wont tatoo you if your on them.
the thing you need to decide is if what you decide to get is something you can live with FOREVER!!!
i got 2 of them 20 yrs ago and i wish now that i didnt have them.
