Nope, worship of anything other than God is totally forbidden. That is part of RULE NUMBER ONE: "You shall love the Lord your God, and shall worship Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength."

Statues and pictures are merely artwork, just as inspirational music is artwork, and fancy architechture is artwork. The function of artwork is to inspire and remind the worshipper, NOT to invoke worship of that particular piece of art.

A statue of Christ on the Cross, for example, serves as a reminder of what Christ did to pay for our sins (Died in our place). We are not encouraged to worship the STATUE, just the PERSON (CHRIST).

Idols aren't really found in places of worship, anyway. The real "zone" of an idol, is the heart of the idolater. An idol can be ANYTHING that takes the place of God in your heart. It doesn't have to be solid, it can be an idea, or a person, or a country, or a lust....anything.

Protestant churches have statues of Jesus on the cross and Catholic churches have statues of Jesus on the cross and the Virgin Mary. We do not bow down and worship the statues. I am Protestant, I have never seen anyone worshiping a statue. I worship the One and True Living God, The Alpha and the Omega, the Father of Jesus Christ our Lord. Worshiping anything else is idolatry and it is a sin.

Postscript: God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit = the Trinity.

No God is the only thing that a Cristian may worship, just like prayer may only be to God and not his saints. But since most of us need to visualize some aspect of proper worship statues, images and other similar things may help us. These things may also guide us to a more holy life since we remember the good people that served and loved God (Saint)
Hope this will help you

Christian Churches do not worship anyone but God. When statues are present in Christian Churches they are used to focus one's mind on Christ's redemptive work and not to worship.

In Christ

Well, Jesus told us to Love the LORD thy God with all your heart mind soul & strength.

That doesn't leave room to worship other gods.

But we can praise our children for a job well done, etc. Or bow to the King. Etc. But to worship in spirit & truth. That should only be unto the Lord God. Only to God the Father, Word/Son & Holy Spirit.

EXactly!!
You are very observant!
The link below uses Bible scriptures to show WHY we should NOT use idols in our Worship to God, as a Christian.

For example, the apostle John admonished Christians: “Guard yourselves from idols.” (1 John 5:21) Paul wrote to the Corinthians: “What agreement does God’s temple have with idols?” (2 Corinthians 6:16) Many early Christians had formerly used religious images in worship. Paul reminded Christians in Thessalonica of this when he wrote: “You turned to God from your idols to slave for a living and true God.” (1 Thessalonians 1:9)

relies upon which branch of Christianity you're relating a pair of them ought to certainly be following an entity that they think of is God yet easily isn't. this is supposedly who you have stated because of the fact the devil who's in value of this actual international, so as to communicate. those believers think of they're following God yet they at the instant are not. not that it concerns as this is all supposedly part of an even bigger plan with the aid of the genuine God so as that leaves the others that save on with what they see because of the fact the real God that Christ stated in his teachings As an aside, i don't think Paul became sexist. this is common that not each little thing in the hot testomony that's attributed to him became easily written with the aid of him. He travelled with a woman Bishop to accomplish baptisms case in point so why then might he be telling those that ladies human beings had no place in the better church order? because of the fact the early Christian communities have been given all started there became certainly equality yet that have been given stamped out and grew to enhance into the Christian church homes we've on the instant The advent of the hot testomony has quite a number of political undertones in it from what i might say have been male chauvinists in value on the time. yet that became the way of issues decrease back then on the off subject rely undertaking of ladies human beings nevertheless, i've got the two seen and heard of ladies human beings committing acts of violence worse then what adult men do. and that they may well be much greater ruthless in the boardroom. So do not naively anticipate that if women human beings have been in value this international may well be any further advantageous

Those are not statues. They are representations of saints, people who had an exemplar behavior and were closer to God than the rest of us.
And we DON'T WORSHIP THEM. We keep them in order to help our human nature to remember them. We acknowledge that they are closer to God and we can ask them to pray to God for something, to be intermediaries, but we worship ONLY GOD

Christians, no. But not everyone who says they are a Christian actually are. Not only that, but not all churches are based on Christianity.

The Bible, which is the basis of Christianity, says that we are NOT to worship anything but God. Ever. Period.

Hope that answers your question.
