Alright my 96 yzf 600 (old style) runs great, but when i let off of my throttle it doesn't idle it just dies. It has universal fuel pump, carbs have been spotlessly cleaned, with all jets cleaned to perfection. What now?

Alright now, when you say drill them out, what do you mean?

Sounds like ther may be an air leak? Spray a small amount of propane around the back of the carbs abd see if the idle changes. If it does, look for the carb needs a gasket or seal rings on the intake manifold. Good luck.

Turn the idle up?

Or if its loading up and flooding when it tries to idle your idle air mixture needs to be adjusted (have to drill out plugs on most carbs to get to said adjustment.)

A service manual of any sort will show you where the idle mixture screws are on you're carb and will give you some idea what to set them at to start. they are sealed from the factory with a brass plug that you have to take out. The easiest way I've found is drill a small hole in the center of it then partially thread a screw into the hole. Then just grab the screw with a pair of pliers and yank.

Turn the gas,air mixture screw, it may be getting to much gas to the plug making it flood out.

Check to see if you have an in-line fuel filter. If you do, then it's time to replace it.
