Funny you should ask. I thought the same thing, so I unplugged it after every use. Then, one time, I forgot to unplug it and nothing happened. It's been plugged in continuously now for almost a year and the house is still standing. If you still feel uneasy about this, unplug it every time you're finished using it-cant hurt.

Only if it is faulty. We have never unplugged our toasters and have never burnt down a house....

if it has a wiring problem it will, if its working properly it wont. the un pluggin the toaster thing go back to when toasters had no off feature.todays toasters pop up, and when they do they turn off and dont over heat.

no not unless your electrical outlet has malfunctioned i never unplug any of my appliances, not my toaster, microwave, can opener, etc

an electerical fire can happen anywhere in your house in any outlet....so it wouldnt hurt anything to leave it plugged in because....like i said it can happen with anything....leaving the toaster plugged in isnt any different from me leaving my coffee pot plugged in.
