I would spend time with her, like helping her around the house, re-organizng things in her house or lifting things she cannot lift, helping her make dinner and renting movies she likes and sitting and going thru old photo albums or home movies. If she is a more active person u could consider taking up a class with her like painting or ceramics, something u both can do together. Or you could taker her to a salon and get a spa treatment and massage, thats a great de-stresser. Before my grandmother passed away I was lucky to have spent a lot of time with her learning about her life. There were so many things only she could have told me about, so this is really a great time for you to learn about her life and ur family history.

Dont ask if she needs help just do it. Run errands help her around the house and don't let her do anything then take her to lunch or dinner.
*Don't let her do anything MAKE her sleep or read or watch T.V!!! Basically be her slave and let her know you are having fun and you WANT to help her

Just sit and listen to her. At this age all they want is to narrate their stories and incidences in life. Giving a patient hearing can work wonders. All the best.
