Hang on....decent men have problems with commitment too!

Commitment is a social invention that leads men into an almost irreversible situation....as in marriage and parenthood.

Most men know that 'Daddy' is always last in the pecking order of the modern family. He is portrayed as an idiot in films and on TV, and his sex life is restricted to a woman who has developed a sudden interest in saggy cardigans.

It is also a false criticism. Women use the noble word commitment to mean something moral and laudable...actually it is just a word to describe what women want...and not much else.

How about women commit to playing fair in family relationships and that they take on a man complete with his needs? Does that sound like a commitment you would want to make?

that's odd because it seems to me its women who are afraid to commit, i see it all the time ,girls who have no interest in getting hitched or having children or even long term relationships, they are more interested in there careers and themselves and see relationships as a burden. i am however in the United States so it may be different. if so then i guess to answer the part of your question where you ask wheres all the decent men?....come on over haha there a ton of really decent guys here and were all fools for an accent.
I'm pretty sure if you just keep your head up and continue dating you'll find someone that's perfect for you and they will stay around, without having to degrade yourself by living amongst Americans. i am lucky to have found someone great myself but for the longest time i was almost sure i would never find someone who was worth my time, not completely self centered and shallow and who would stay around.

Oh Come on. Don't generalise. The same can be said of women. I don't buy into sterotypes. Next you'll be asking why do men always talk about football and why do women always talk about shopping.

Because of the daft divorce laws it is no longer in men's interest to commit their entire assets to one woman. If it ends in divorce men are left virtually penniless.

because they are scared, they think something better might come along, they think if they are committed they are not gona be able to "travel the world" - they dont want to be "ordinary" married men with responsibilities.

What makes you think you, or any other woman is worth giving up freedom for ? I don't mean freedom to sleep around, I mean freedom to breathe.
