and drugs can also give you the same "holy spirit" effect.
I feel the same thing after going on a grueling bike ride.

To a nonbeliever no explanation is possible. To a believer no explanation is necessary! True for many questions asked on this 'chat room'. Abraham Lincoln once said, "I have been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming feeling that there was no place else to go". If you've never been in a trying situation and prayed and received God's love and peace in your heart then you can't know anything about it, so don't tell us who have been there that it is endorphins! If God gives the endorphins a wake-up call sometimes so be it! He made us and knows which buttons to push, but if you ever really feel the Holy Spirit you'll know the difference.

You cannot prove that there is no Holy Spirit, just as we cannot physically prove there is. It takes faith. I wouldn't expect an unbeliever to understand the Holy Spirit, so I'm not surprised (only saddened) by your skepticism.
1 Corinthians 2:14 -- The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But soften your heart a little; I will be praying for you. Have a nice day.

If you want to go into my house you don't ask the house to come to you so you can walk in. You drive to my house.
Obviously you just do not want into Gods house and you are trying to convince yourself, more than us that he doesn't exist.
If you wanted into Gods house you would be asking pointed questions and actually making an effort. Instead you are being condescending to his children, and hurtful. You say mean things and you get no more out of it than a minor head swelling and a couple of yucks. You know that we want to believe what we do. So you know saying things the way you have here will upset some who read it. there is a suspicious malice that comes with your words as if you have somehow grown bitter towards Christianity as a whole. I cannot help but wonder why you only choose to accept the narrow minded fundamentalist view of Christianity as the only form of Christianity there is. Peace be with you on your journey.

This is so sad.
'The Holy Spirit brings the endorphins out'?
What?
Then why do they come out at other times, like when one is "sinning?"

And is it adrenaline that makes me feel calm and at peace during stressful, hard to bear times when I ask God? Or what about when I pray for others and feel the power of everything is going to be all right for them, not for me. Is that their endorphins I am experiencing? Just a couple of opinions from someone who believes there is a God and Jesus did die for my sins, and He gives me the things I need. Thanks for the question and have a super day!!

When will you and others realize, that you should not be making statements on these things, that you are very ignorant about?
Since you are not a True Christian, and are not "saved" filled with the Holy Spirit to even know the difference of how it feels.
Neither have you studied in depth the Holy Scriptures of God's Word from cover to cover in a detail format.
Or
You... like many others who speak out of ignorance and lack of knowledge, would not be saying those things.

You know the religious answer to that question will be "and who do you think releases those endorphins?" With questions as closeminded as this one, do you really expect a legitimate answer such as "in about 362 years"? Or do you just honestly want to openly bash a whole group of people? I think the latter.

And God mad our brains and the endorphins that get released... So we humans have figured out a small piece of the puzzle.

Missing Link, awesome post. That is exactly what it is; there is no "holy spirit".
I remember feeling like I was "condemned" as a former Christian one time; then I played some "praise and worship" music and got a "spiritual high" and suddenly, I was forgiven. Amazing - not!
