i have your same problem, i am pretty skinny, i actually eat a ton, but i have a fast metabolism (sp?).

anyway, i dont recommend using protein pills, there are way too many side effects to them. try using muscle milk that you can get at a local supermarket. i know you arent trying to build muscle, but going to the gym once a week helps a lot too.

by the way, i drink muscle milk 3 times a day, but just one a day should put some meat on your bones

That'll be a waste of time and money, I think.

Clearly you need to exercise to build some muscle to support those bones that a sticking through your emaciated pale girly- like body. ... lol.

Pain and breathlessness are your friends. Join a gym and workout at least three times a week.. get a personal trainer to guide your program.. even if only for one hour a month. You might need to get more carbs into your diet, I think. You can use dietary supplements like Musashi Bulk .. that add protein and carbs. .. it's made for skinny dudes that work out... so you eat what you do now and add a few of these a day.. adds about 600 Cals per serving to your dietary intake.... so work out or you will get fat instead of muscular!

I know where you're coming from. When I was 14 years old I was 5 foot 5 inches and I weighted 98 pounds. Very skinny...people used to say I was the original 98 lb weakling. Today, I'm 5' 11" and weigh 155 lbs.

Protein may or may not help (in didn't help me). It depends on your diet and your metabolism. Also protein supplement should be taken carefully because it leeches calcium; too much protein could leave your bones soft and brittle.

Be sure to include lots of fish and meat as well as green leafy vegetables in your diet.

If you want to gain weight then muscle is much heavier than fat and a protien powder combined with weight training is the best rout to take. If you just want to gain fat then protien will not helpmuch. A high calorie diet with lots of carbohydrates and no excersize will help put fat on your body but that is not much in the way of being healthy.

Don't take pills. Start by eating square meals. You have to start lifting weights too. If you want to Sup. I suggest whey protien in powder form. Mix it with water or juice.

They'll do nothing unless your body needs that protein already. Having seen your doctor, has he tested your thyroid output? Without an active disease state, your metabolism may be the reason. Blood tests can show if there are any hormonal causes.
