I am building a rail gun and i need capacitors, but i only have $40 max?

i would not prefer to buy them off ebay, any ideas, like buying from a company or something, caps have to be udleast 400v, and i prefer electrolyc capacitors

all i am willing to spend is $40 for the capacitor bank, $70 max, i already have the rails and the plexi glass and screws and chargins sytem, but all i am missing is the capacitor bank, would it be possible to get the caps from camera flashes, maybe if i get like 500 caps and solder them togehter, 2 in series and 250 rows or 5 in sires and 100 rows? and for me nothing is im possible, i already built a co2 laser using only $100(i borrowed the vacuum pump) and i already had a x-ray transformer as source of power

and also i mean rail gun as if RAILS not COILS

With only $40 you are not "building". You are instead only "dreaming of building."

No matter how cheap you get them $40 won't cover it. Beside if they are coming from ebBay or someone's old salvage they may have deteriorated severely in capacitance.

ebay or try a local surplus electronic store or start pulling them from old electronics.
