Barb - Congress funded border security by 1.2 billion 8 months ago. But except for a small portion of barriers built in Mexico, which is being torn down, we don't seem to have much to show for it. I would think that a govt trying to persuade us they will enforce the law and secure the border would at least do what is already funded.

I guess you'd have to say they don't seem interested enough. Maybe that will change next November.

Here we go again. It's all about the N A U. I know you are probably tired of hearing that, but I hope, eventually, everyone will learn what this is and what it will mean if it goes through. It will not be good for the country.

I would bet there is another bill being drawn up right now with another SPP article hidden in it. It's bad enough that they did that in the first place, and even worse, they kept it hidden. They can't be trusted.

It will be a tough battle against the corporations who are pulling the strings to get this done, but we got the other bill killed, so keep on fighting!

Keep after them to close those borders and send warm bodies, not just cameras and electronic surveillance. It's time to care about our country.

The Bush admin for some reason doesn't want to build the fence unless it get a 'comprehsive package', although Chertoff recently commented that 300 miles will be build within a year.

Though seeing is believing.

Two-fold. The admin desires cheap labor, and the left in line with the admin wants amnesty and cheap votes. Best reasons I can think of.

Because the arguements are more about pork barrel distributions.......

to accomplish anything in Congress, there has to be an exchange of favors

Congress will never respond quickly to anything important..........the only person on this planet that can respond quickly effectively and make things happen...is the President of the USA

We need to bombard Congress with calls , fax and e-mail's
Let them know , that American Citizens want the security of closed borders .
It's not that hard , if you have a little intelligence and ingenuity
With all the technology at our finger tips they should come up with something .
And I'm sure there will be no shortage of volunteers
So whats their excuse ? If it's money , we could take up donations , that should take about a week !!!!

Because Democrats want to make it an issue in the next election. The money is there to build the fence and has been for a long time.

Senate, and Congress members (who were supportive of the bill) wants to prove to Americans (who were against the bill) that if we had let it pass, and signed into law, all illegals would magically disappear (true because they would have legal status), and no more would come because of their new law (false because they still would allow it to happen). Another words the dirty corrupt traitors are trying to hold the American citizens hostage by continuing to allow illegals to come willy-nilly. Instead of finishing what they started. Which was their old laws already on the books.

You're not paying attention.

With the defeat of the immigration bill, it's all over...... Gone, kaput, finished, done.

It is business as usual now and will remain that way for the next several years.

There ain't no more money for it.....and nobody gives a crapola....never did.

Immigration control is dead in the water. All those in hiding can come out and go back to work....no more problems.... Those waiting to hop the border, can now do it...

I like that idea of taking donations. We'll contribute. In fact, I'll use my vacation time to go to Texas (closest to me) and help on building the fence.
Congress needs to get off their asssssssss, pick up their shovels and get to work and get this done.

It just boggles the mind.
I just don't know what these people are thinking.
I think we should spank most of them on election day.
They seem to be in a state of utter defiance toward the people who elected them, re-elected them, pay their bills and their retirement.
I'm sick of them.
