I am not just talking about atheists. It is a shame people
on here do not ask the person their views first on topics
before insulting them.
I do not agree with all of the President's views.
(he says he is Christian) I would like to know how
many Christians on here do not agree with all his views.
Anyway, this can go for all religions, it would be nice to
ask the person his views on topics before insulting.
Or is insulting their favorite thing to do?
I won't insult anyway.

I should also add even if you do
not believe, I am not going to insult
you. It is up to everyone what they
believe or do not believe, that is
my opinion. I will not tell you my
beliefs unless you want to know,
that is.
Apparently that guy who said I
worship a dead man on a stick
has nothing better to do than insult.
How sad.

There are mean and hateful Christians
out there (hypocrites) and I have met
a few. It's just that we are not all the
same in our views, what we say and
do.

I think many people have a knee-jerk reaction to Christianity because they believe that Christians are out to limit everyone's freedoms and dumb down our school systems. Not all Christians are in favor of abstinence-only education and intelligent design being taught in schools, but those are the ones who speak up the loudest. This is threatening to some people (Christians included!), because they don't want our children's education to be limited. Likewise, not every Christian opposes gay marriage and actively works to shut down adult establishments in their towns, but the ones who do anger folks who don't want to be told what they can and cannot do by a religious group. Because of the volume of the conservative Christians' message, that's all many people think of when they hear the term "Christian".

I have found the same statement to be true of ANYONE who is not a Christian! Christian have decided that all pagans are evil and report directly to Satan and pagans (and Atheists) think that all Christians are close-minded and ignorant. Way too many generalizations in here, and unfortunately that does reflect on the intelligence of SOME people who answer. Personally I will NEVER answer a question based solely on MY beliefs! I will really look at a question before I answer. You must also keep in mind that a lot (if not most) of the people who answer are either under-age or have the IQ of someone who is not very mature. They get a kick out of trying to get a rise out of people.
I am not a Christian, but my view of Mr. Bush has nothing to do with religion. I just think he uses the Christianity angle as a crutch. But from what I have seen, what he has done is not in the best interest of the general population, but only of the wealthy, especially those in the oil business.

I know that you've asked "how many Christians on here do not agree with all of his views," but you've actually brought up a few different issues between your statements and questions.
I am not a Christian (or a believer, period). Since we are all human first, we come equipped with shortcomings--and no religious order will banish that. It's a shame that so many reprehensible things happen, since the beginning of humankind to present, in the name of "God" or religion.
And regarding your remark about insulting--why, that's what people do when they are threatened or ignorant or both. No one's God or religion has ever been able to stop that, either.
And one last thing. Years ago, when I was in school, I had a professor ask if there could truly be any atheists in this world, considering all the belief systems that exist, many of which most people will never know about. If no one can be knowledgeable (stressing knowledgeable) of all belief systems, how can anyone know that there isn't one out there that is suited for their beliefs, regardless of what they are? (Sorry for the latter tangent....)

Ha Ha. You insulted Christians by saying you met a few
hypocrites! Just kidding, I know what ya mean. I have
met mean and hateful ones too. There are all different
types of Christians. And I am a very different type, for
instance, I can talk about topics others may not. Like
for instance, when they talked about Marie Osmond
being a good choice for The View, they said something
like, even with her religious views, no topic is too hot
for Marie.
You're right though, we are not all the same.

I myself consider myself Christian and I don't agree with George Bush.
As for your question, in their perspective, others seem lower to them. They're going to insult the religious beliefs of people on some subjects to get that nice feeling of "Hey! I can go against religion! I'm better than all you losers! :D" (Cute, but rude as heck, little smiley face)
Or like you said, they insult for insulting's sake.
Third and maybe last possibility can be just because nobody really sees the normal Christians on TV all that often. There's not much reason for to really mention a normal person's religion in a show, unless it's for a religion-themed episode.
Same thing goes for News Reports and other stuff that's not fictional.
Hope I helped and didn't sound like a lecture.

It spite of many of their claims to the opposite, many of these people are very clos minded. They believe all Christians are the same (a sign of prejudice ) they think only their belief can be correct( close minded) and use insults rather than reason ( immaturity) They have a highly limited number of ways to counter a comment ( lack of having completely thought out the answer) I could go on but the point is that although many are calling themselves openminded, freethinking, deepthinkers, many are merely reactionary.

Why do Christians think all atheists are the same? Lot of generalizing here. I try not to insult, but a lot a people seem to be a little touchy and your opinion on something could seem like an insult to another person.

there was something about some Baptists in the news who opposed Bush's views on the war in Iraq and the war in Iraq. also it was mentioned in Time Magazine how Bush was courting the Consevitive religious vote so wanted to look good to aquire those votes. would be the same for a different President who was seeking different votes.

good question. not all Christians are the same, you're right. i don't agree with all of the president's views. it's too bad some of those Christians in the public eye give the followers of Christ a bad name.
