If he drank water before when he licked you then probably not. Dogs with rabies hate water

Most vets have all the records on the computer and there is no excuse for them not knowing this dog had already been vaccinated. Rabies vaccine is killed virus so getting vaccinated is not going to give your dog rabies. The only problem would be reaction to the vaccinations. Check with the vet to make sure the dog got the three year rabies. don't just assume that is what they used. The law states that if the dog gets the one year rabies, it will need another before the year is out and if you don't get another, then the next rabies will also have to be a year vaccination. Silly as it seems, that is the law in the US They can only use the three year rabies if given before the one year rabies runs out.

Umm if you had rabies you would show signs of it real fast...thats why its a legal issue! Besides the only way your dog can get rabies is from another animal biting him. He is only 6 months and maybe he never really got to chew anything and needs to get that out of his system... For me one of my dogs I adopted *14 and half years ago...when she was 10 months she had 3 other homes before we got her..she was always kinda sassy i should say but my other dog kept her cool and we were able to kiss and hug her..when my dog died she just became kujo...and the day before she died she did bite my hand and got me in 5 places...she was soo out of it i am not going to hold that up to her..In the end i wouldn't worry about rabies..i think that should be the last thing on your mind..and if your vet thought it might be something wrong-anything they wouldn't give a rabies shot. I work as a tech at an animal hospital and we have several dogs that we can't give rabies because they are sick or what not. ( But they DO get it when there better, also it won't put them over the edge). I hope that helps! and oh yeah if you have think about testing your dog for rabies besides obersvation that means cutting your dogs head off..just so you know.

I'm not convinced he has rabies, young dogs, especially if they are not properly sociallized in the first few weeks of life, can have a lot of bad habits. It could be that the bad habits subsided as a result of the the visit to the vet, or its just a coincident. Maybe biting is just rough play or cautious defense for him. Rabies sets on normally in 2-12 weeks in humans, but may take as long as 2 years. It causes flu-like symptoms and encephalitis. I would suggest getting a shot yourself just to be safe.

He's probably trying to play with you by biting your hand. Does he bite down hard or just kind of chew on you? If he's just chewing on you then it's just typical puppy biting. Tell him no and hold his mouth closed every time he does this or he will continue to bite as an adult dog. These are not signs of rabies please stop worrying.

If he was adopted from a pet shelter its 99% likely they gave him a shot for rabies already and other shots to pervent other things. They keep animals a while to see if they actually do have rabies.

Calm down you should be fine. You don't say where you got the puppy.... so can't comment on that.
Your puppy trying to bite your hand is called "mouthing" he is just trying to play with your. When he does that, give him a good thump on the nose. And say, "No!" He should soon get the message that biting at your hand is not correct.

No neither of you have rabies....his trying to bite its a training issue not medical.I highly suggest finding an obedience school for you both...Petsmart has classes. Also dogs are watched at shelters for signs of diseases prior to them being placed for adoption.

You gave him a Rabies shot? Then you must be a veterinarian because only a DVM can give those shots.
