My brother was a State trooper in oregon, who died from a single shot to the head, i respected him, as he did me. After i was wounded in the Army, he was proud of me, and respected my decison to use cannibus, durring the many hard years of my recovery. My sisters son is a LAPD sargent, and we have talked about the natural med i use, I respect most cops, but there are so many that are still brain washed about this safe med, some are finaly getting there act togather, like this guy (watch Video)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYpt_H6g_44&mode=related&search=

I am from Oregon and I work at an attorneys office that has had several clients with drug charges but that have medical marijuana cards. So to answer your question: No. They don't respect their rights and the patients have to battle it out in court at their own expense. They win and are found not guilty but they sure make it a hassle.

I'm not a cop nor do I live in Oregon, but I still think that Compazine and Vicodin do wonders as far as what the "medical uses" of pot would be for, and it doesn't make it easier for stoners to get a hold of weed growing in someone's back yard because they have a "medical marijuana card"... I think any cop would rightfully be pissed off to know that it's just that much easier for stoners to get drugs...

Police usually expect the court to do the 'respecting'. Give them a chance and they'll arrest you, and ask questions later.

Under FEDERAL law, medical marijuana does not exist. Legally, there is no such thing as a medical marijuana patient. Therefore, they have no legal rights to respect.

Please get off of pot while posting. I'm glad that we ran the "medical marijuana" crowd (with their deceptive marketing schemes) out of Nevada.
