I found with my .22 auto rifle that after I shoot for a day if im to "lazy" to clean it I ream the barrel quick with the brush, open the action and spray out well with a gun lubricant, if you want to cheap out use wd40 (my guns older). Work the action back and forth, keep spraying, and you will clean most of the powder residue out. Wipe down the outside of the gun (not the stock) with a cloth do prevent rust.

This is only a quick fix that works well for the most part but have found that every few hundred rounds I do need to tear it down and wipe everything down good. Surprisingly with this quick clean method I was still getting very good groupings at 100 yards with no reliability issues. If your shooting in the rain or moisture you are still best adviced to do a full clean and dissamble and oil. Good shootin partner

Like everyone else said, disassemble the gun according to the instructions.

Use your cleaning kit and clean the gun. It's a lot simpler than you think.
