It aint illegal. But you might have to get that artists permission before you sell copies of the album.

You can make a copy of yourself singing those songs as long as you don't try to pass them off as your own and make a profit off of the cds.
I don't think the RIAA is going to come after you just because you essentially made a karaoke cd of yourself. Just don't try to pass those songs off as your own. You don't have permission to sing the songs and you definitely don't have permission to distribute the cd and make a profit from it.
It's illegal but in all reality, as long as you don't try to sell the cd you'll be alright. The RIAA probably won't even bother going after you for something like that. All you did was make a karaoke cd.
Alot of artists got into the music industry by making a demo tape of them singing other artist's music and the right person comes along and hears it. Most cover bands don't have permission to sing the songs they sing at small events.

You are free to do whatever you want recording so long as you don't pass it off as your own work or attempt to sell it for a profit.

You can record it , but you can't sell it , I mean you could probley ask friends to pay for it as they are just your friends and they know that it's not your work but no promoting of it though I am not even sure if that is legal but defently aloud just to record it and give to friends but no selling it

Yes AND No. It's not illegal if you just make it, but it IS illegal if you sell it because the song you're singing has copyright.
