If someone is completely out of the room (like in the bathroom) I just ignore it. If someone is say on the deck right outside the living room, I will pick up the phone and take it to them.
Never, ever would I answer it.

If they're nearby, I will holler at them that their phone is ringing, otherwise I'll just let it ring and tell them when they return that they had a call. I won't pick it up; it's none of my business who is calling and I am not good with cell phones anyhow, I would probably press the wrong button. That's what happened once when a phone kept ringing, ringing, ringing repeatedly at work one time; they'd let it ring until it stopped, call again, three times at least, so me & the other folks who were there thought it might be a true emergency.... I tried to get it but since I didn't know the phone I hit the wrong button & broke it off. (never did find out what it was for, they didn't call back after that).

Unless it's my husband's phone I just watch it ring and tell the person their phone rang when they return to the room.

unless it was someone you know, and they had indicated before they left the room that they wanted you to answer their phone if it rings, I would let the phone ring.

Nothing. No one is calling you and it's none of your business who is calling. Not meaning to be rude, but that's the truth. When the person returns to the room, tell them someone called and they can check on their caller ID to see who it was.

Unless someone told me they wanted me to answer his or her phone, I would let ring and tell them they missed a call when he or she came back.

If they are in ear shot, I let them know that their phone is ringing. Or I will bring it to them if I can. If not, I tell them that someone called when they were gone.

If they are in ear shot call out and tell them someone just called them.
If not like in the restroom wait until they get back then tell them someone called.

You ignore it and tell them when they get back, if you answer it and it's an important call then you'll get the blame for messing up.

Let it go to their voice mail and let them know when they return that it was ringing.
You wouldn't want a visitor in your home to answer your land line, would you?
