I know I can say that Im not trying to insult anyone or start any angered uproars but I guess they cant be avoided in this forum. So since Im truly wondering....ill ask anyway....

According to Christian doctrines, we are sinners the day we are born. But in the womb we are pure and free of sin. That implies a distinction between fetus and baby. In abortion arguments, it often comes down to the question of where life begins. So why is the distinction in the theory of Original Sin not the same as the distinction of where life begins?

My assumption that Christianity says that we are sinless in the womb is based on the fact that I have heard people say that the fetus has done no wrong and that aborted babies go straight to heaven. I may be wrong about what Christianity says about where the soul of a fetus goes when it is aborted....if so please include that in your answers or edits. Thanks.

From the moment of conception we are sinners, not from the moment we leave the womb. I am not sure where you got your information. Flesh equals sin, birth does not equal sin. The sinful nature is Flesh. Flesh equals: muscle, skin, tissue, bone, etc. All combined it refers to the human body. There is an "Age of Accountability" which applies to all children, I believe God judges each case individually and I think to approximately age 12. No-one can know for certain how God judges young children and at what age they become accountable for their actions. But we do know this: God is a Loving and Caring God and it is His will that not one soul should perish. Please state the "Christian Doctrine" you are referring to as I am unfamiliar with it. God Bless You....Peace.

where does it say we are pure and free of sin in the womb? can you list a source?

also, the distinction of where life begins is debated even among Christians. some parts of the Bible say that God knows us, even in the womb, yet in Genesis it says God "breathed" life into Adam, implying that life begins at the first breath. still an argument among Christians, though most would say abortion is not okay under most circumstances.

You are mistaken. We are not pure and free from sin in the womb. Are spirits are dead. All descendants of Adam are. That's why we have to be born again. Are spirits are born again. Original sin began with Adam, life begins at conception.

You are confusing Catholic theology with Christian beliefs(which may vary a lot from different groups). Original sin is a myth. A child is not sinful because of the acts of parents. We are all responsible for ourselves. Little children and babies are innocent and saved by the atonement of Christ until they are old enough to be accountable for themselves. I would like to think anyone can look at a little baby and know this directly from the spirit of God.

Cause God said all ye rancid perverts ye cause me irkage.

You're wrong about one thing:
The fetus was conceived in sin, and the zygote too; and all humans exist in sin, and they are floating in sin; and not just sin but all kinds of wretched whoredoms -- so there is no such distinction as you ask about.

Christian doctrine posits the existence of sin on every nook and cranny, and there is nowhere to avoid it except in the bosom of Jesus.

You didn't know Jesus had a bosom?

Well, I got news for you: Both Jesus and Abraham have bosoms.

Actually, the Bible says we are sinners at the very moment of conception.

"Look! With error I was brought forth with birth pains,
And IN SIN MY MOTHER CONCEIVED ME." -Psalm 51:5

Sin is inherited from our parents, just as they inherited it from their parents, and so forth all the way back to Adam.

Thus:

"through one man [Adam] sin entered into the world...and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned" -Romans 5:12

Sin is not something that God zaps us with at some early age. Since our parents are all sinners, it is not possible for them to conceive a sinless child. Hence:

"Who can produce someone clean out of someone unclean?
There is not one." -Job 14:4

A Simple View!

Jesus Christ and all of his teachings, say that we are of God in spirit -- and not of Earth.

Using Paul as the example (* Not strict scripture, my views on our place on earth and with God -The Great Spirit- in the Universe)

... Jesus showed us that on the road to Damascus via Paul that we are changed through his and
Gods power to understand that we are of God. The scales on the eyes of Paul (garden of Eden and the serpent)
is the awakening that we all on earth search for.

When that happens you are set aside and see the small mindedness of all on earth.

Gods spirit is lost in pride and money on earth, wars and justice used on others in our communities with
normal people using their muscles and mind. What a pity!

We belong to our OWN Spirit individually, which is from GOD -- The Great Spirit

The Valley Of Death, and God telling us to this day, is to understand to find your spirit and God.
Believe, have faith in God alone. That is what Jesus wanted from the beginning of his travels on earth.

Jesus, Saul, The Valley Of Death.

Religion is not teaching you.

Religion is trying to do the correct thing.

We are spirit--they shy away from the hardness of spirits teachings.

**I apologize for spelling!

I don't see where the Bible says we are sinless in the womb, as we are conceived in sin.

Because a few years ago religion decided they could have more control that way.

At one point, the church actually taught that babies had no soul until months after they were born - look it up.
