Yes, I do it all the time.

Edit: Don't listen to the person wh said that rule has changed since 9/11. I've flown hundreds of times since then - I actually flew 2 days ago and I brought and ate my own food on board. The only thing is, you can't bring LIQUIDS through security, so you have to buy a drink at the airport after you've gone through security.

Most airlines allow it. Just make sure, if flying internationally, that you put any uneaten food in the trash when cabin crew come around collecting containers.

I think you can take a water bottle if you've purchased it once going through security check. Can't take alcohol unless it's been purchased duty free and you certainly can not drink it during the flight.

not drinks, if you try to bring water or stuff like that past security they will make you toss it. if you were to buy a drink after the security check point or any food the TSA make you toss you can take it on the plane.

I always used to do it. I have not been on a plane since 2003 so I don't know how much security has changed since.

I'm afriad not. After 9/11, all of the airport staff are making no mistakes in ensuring security, especially in food. That is to say, it would be now compulsary to eat airline food. Check your local airline for more details.

Should be fine. As long as it isn't a liquid/gel (like yogurt or peanut butter), it's fine. Liquids are restricted under the TSA rules, and all your liquids have to be 3 oz. or less in container size.
