My Mut has normal eyelids and then underneath that there is an opaque eyelid that closes sideways. Whats up with that? You can only see it when shes sleepy. If you wake her up her normal eyelids open and you can see the second ones halfway open in the process of closing. What is it?

Sorry it's normal - it's called the third eyelid, or nictitating membrane. All dogs and cats have it.
Actually your dog has three eyelids per eye - an upper, a lower and the third, inner eyelid :-)

That's actually normal. They do have what seems to be a second eyelid... but it's just to keep the eye moist and free of dust... don't worry at all.

it is the inner eye lid. th out side eye lid is the one that u see. the inner closes before the outer.

It is all good all dogs have this. My lab has it. It does look weird at times.

All dogs have it. It is completely normal.
Unless it shows all the time, it is fine.
