lumbar-sacral swelling?

I know this is a sign and symptom of a disease process yet can't for the life of me remember from nursing school what it could point to...can't find it in my books either...help

there are tens of things that can cause LS spine area swelling, describe the symptoms and I may be able to help, good luck
