Is this two feet long from nose to tail tip, or two feet when stretched completely out on the floor? I can't really tell from this description whether 10-12 pounds is overweight for your cat or not, but if he is a big cat then it's probably OK.
Cat and dog ideal weight is based on shape, called Body Condition Scoring, so take a look at this diagram to see if your cat is an ideal shape:
http://www.hillspetslimmer.co.uk/overweight/diagnosis_bodycondition.html
Basically the cat should have a defined waistline and you should be able to easily feel, but not see, the rib bones.
Cats are not supposed to have eye discharge, so this could be a concern. How long has he had this problem for? If it's quite a recent development, say within the last couple of weeks, it could be the beginnings of a respiratory problem - is the cat vaccinated? These problems can initially present in the eyes - so can facial abscesses believe it or not, say if the cat has broken a tooth and infection has set in there.
It could be nothing, but if ever you're worried about a pet then take them to a vet - it's what they're there for. Certainly don't delay in taking the cat to a vet if further symptoms appear, such as sneezing, discharge of any kind from nose, eyes appear closed up or the cat stops eating or seems to be acting differently.

Is it a lot of liquid stuff or a little? If it's just a little bit, persian cats or cats with smooshed in noses tend to have a little bit come out of their noses and eyes. Also, the cat may have allergies, no doubt you plan on taking him to the vet. I'm not expert but it could be allergies, a severe eye infection or something internal going on. Cats can't tell you whats going on with them so it is good you are looking out for the little signs like that. My cat is 16 pounds but he's an old guy and very big. He's been on a lot of diets lol ;-) 10-12 pounds isn't so bad for a cat.

Your cat could have allergies or a cold in its eyes. Get some saline solution like contact lens saline solution (cost or brand does not matter). Wash out the cats eyes gently and thoroughly. The cat will not like this but if a cuddly pet it will let you if you or someone else holds the cat by the scruff of the neck while you clean the eyes. If this does not clear up in a few days by all means take it to a vet. It could be a serious condition that requires a vets attention. There are many conditions that manifest itself by watery eyes.

Sounds like he is at his perfect size. As for the weird liquidy stuff coming out of his eyes, he might have an eye cold. I'd say take him to see his vet.

Your cat should be fine. The liquid stuff from his eyes could just be allergies because my cat does this sometimes too. About his weight, it depends on what kind of cat he is. My cat is a manecoon and he weighs about 18lbs (last time I checked) I'm not an expert this just comes from experience but if you are worried then I would call/see a vet about it.

Definitely consult your vet asap. Weird liquid stuff coming out of the cat's eyes is a problem that needs looking at. As for the weight vs. length, your vet can also let you know if this is a correct proportion for your cat's breed and age.

Is his eye that is leaking also closed somewhat? It could be conjunctivitis. If it is the doctor will give you a tube of ointment that you have to put in your kitties eye for a week. It sucked and I hated doing it but it helped my kitty. Your vet will be able to tell you for sure. Good luck.
