Since I've decided to turn my life over to Christ. After some searching I feel that I have made the choice for me. However I don't know what sect or denomination I'm gonna choose if any at all. I mean I was baptized as a baby in the Catholic Church but was never active in it and I've never done Communion or Confirmation. So what's the next step? Does any of that matter? Do I have to be baptized again or is the baptism as a baby enough? Oh and I'm an adult now.

We are all brothers and sisters. I encourage you to follow your heart. In terms of baptism as a Catholic, no, you do not need to get baptised again but I encourage you to take part in a RCIA program at your local church and you will recieve confirmation at the same time. A lot of practising Catholics go to still learn about their faith and it can be a very moving expierence. I wish you an abundance of love and prayers.God Bless!

There is no authority in the Bible for infant baptism!

Jesus said "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16)

Peter taught in Acts 2 that they needed to believe ("know assuredly" verse 36) that Jesus was the Christ. After it was clear they believed and they asked what they needed to do to be saved, he told them, "Repent and be baptized". (Verse 38) Belief and repentance both precede baptism in this chapter.

When the eunuch recognized the need to be baptized, he asked "See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized?" Phillip's response was, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." (Acts 8:36-37) Belief is required for one to be scriptural be baptized.

Those who say an infant may, or even must, be baptized base their argument on the "households" that were baptized. They assume these households included infants that were baptized. Their idea is mere assumption rather than what the Word says.

Also the scriptures in some of these accounts say a certain individual believed with his whole house. If the whole house believes, then it can be concluded they were capable of believing, and therefore not infants.

Finally, the conversions of these households would not contradict the other verses that teach belief comes before baptism. Again "If you believe you may (be baptized)".

Why do I believe in believer's baptism? Because that is what the Word of God says.

Would I accept you as a brother? That is the wrong question. What you should look for are the requirements the Father (God) has established for one to become His child!

The question of most importance is not who a brother is, but who your Father is! Get the right Father! This must be done on His terms!

Attached is a link to a free 6-lesson video Bible study. It is called "Searching For Truth". Please don't stop searching until you find THE TRUTH! Compare all that is taught to the Scriptures to see if it is true! (Acts 17:11)

If a doctrine agrees with the Bible, accept it! If it does not agree with the Bible, reject it!

Congratulations and welcome into the body of Christ! Personally, I am a non-denominational Christian. I do love the Calvary Chapel churches very much, although there aren't any near to me.

I think that it would be good for you to be baptised again because it would symbolize your conscious decision to turn your life over to Christ. When you were an infant, you did not get baptised of your own volition, so I think you would feel more connected to a baptism that actually symbolizes your commitment as an informed adult. It is also a very profound experience when you actually know what you're doing and why you are doing it. :)

You were Baptized properly in Christ's Church. No other Baptism is necessary as proper form was used. Go and talk to a local priest and start attending classes. God bless you on your return home to His Church.

First you need to find you a church. One that you feel comfortable in. After attending a while decide what you will do. You should be baptized into the faith, but that time will come as you grow in Christ.

Find a church then - most won't ask you to be baptised again and will encourage you to think about and prepare for confirmation or deeper commitment... and communion. Take courage - and God Bless, brother.

um, I'm baptist and still cool.

lol, so i guess I'll recommend it.

anyway, when you were just a baby, you really didn't have the choice to be baptized or not, so i would say that it didn't count...but dont think that you HAVE to be baptized to be a Christian, cuz thats not true. Being baptized is just the public saying that you will follow Christ.

You should read into what baptism really means, and you need to make that choice yourself. the next step would to be to find a local church to help and encourage you in your new faith.

When someone turns to God to do his will first of all he must know what God's will is, and then live in accord with that. That is what is meant by the term "Godly Devotion". To be a Christian means to be a footstep follower of Christ or "Christ Like"., so naturally this will have a major bearing on how we live our lives in all areas. No baby can make that decision, and nobody else can make that decision for you. God looks at your life course which shows your sincerity of worship. Firstly Jesus said in John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ." As you see taking in accurate knowledge by a study of the Bible is the first step to coming to know God and learning his will. Jesus once again advised in Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone saying to me "Lord, Lord" will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heaven will. Many will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?" And yet then I will confess to the: I never knew you. Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness." Therefore how essential it is to understand what God NOT Man wants us to live like.
