My father has been saying nice, sweet, beautiful things about Tobey Maguire ever since he saw his first Spider-Man movie. Does that mean that my father wants Tobey Maguire to be his son-in-law?

inofensive
respectful
shy but noble
he does good dees (at least in the movies)
he earns a lot of money
he's famous
who wouldn't like a guy like that? (or at least respect one)
who wouldn't want to have one as a son?
who wouldn't want a "good man" like that to marry your daughter, the "light of his eyes"?...
That is all very fitting to any parents' point of view about the kind of life and success his son should have

My father used to be the same way about Tom Cruise until he turned into a nut job. For me it's leonardo Di Caprio. I think everyone has an actor/actress they can feel in tune with because their lives are made so public. I guess for your dad tobey Maguire gets his spidey sense tingling. Good luck Mrs. Maguire.

Not to be rude, but don't think Tobey will ever be your father's son-in-law. Tobey is engaged and I don't think he will ever leave his fiance for some one he doesn't know.
Did you ever think your dad thought he was a extraordinary actor, and that's all.

no it doesnt mean he wants him to be his s-i-l. tobey maguire's character in spiderman just seems innocent and naive and people generally seem to like that in others. but just when its not real
