I had a lower molar pulled June 5. Developed into a dry socket. Dentist packed it four times in the course of ten days. It is now healing without packing and am rinsing with a special syringe after meals. However, I am still in pain not so much in the socket itself but in the areas around the socket and thoughout the jaw area on the affected side. This has been one of the worst experiences in my life. Pain, sleepless nights, etc. Dentist prescribed Vicodin which helps but I don't want to continuously take that. Anyone out there that has had this experience please tell me how long does this last!! and when can I expect to really feel normal again.?

gargle with apple-cider vinegar, pinch of salt warm water.
also rinse the sore area with olive oil or canola oil
teabags do miracles also...freeze one and put on the pain.
Another remedy...frozen broccoli on the soreness helps.
fill an empty pepsi bottle with hot water and put on pain, try
ice 20 min, then heat.....

HELLO,
I'M SORRY TO READ ABOUT ALL THE PAST MISERY YOU'VE EXPERIENCED. DRY SOCKET IS A MISERY YOU DON'T WANT FOR YOUR WORST ENEMY.
THE TIME PERIOD OF COMPLETE HEALING RESOLUTION CAN BE SEVERAL MONTHS.
DON'T FORGET THAT EXPOSED BONE HAS HAD TO BE COMPLETELY COVERED BY GUM AND NEW BONE HAS HAD TO REFORM OVER THE PREVIOUSLY EXPOSED BONE. THIS PROCESS WILL EVENTUALLY HAPPEN, BUT IT'S NOT QUICK.
